STILL This Tired?

You kept meaning to rest. You did. It was on the list. It was on the list. What can I say? You had it in the reminders. You had a you even put a uh uh an alarm. You did, you did all of it. I don't know what to tell you. You're not lazy. Well, we we know that you're not lazy. Look at your list. Let's you got a list. You got this list, so much stuff on the list, the to-do list, and you're getting after it. The crazy thing is, you've been productive so long, you can't remember beginning to be productive. You don't know when it started. Was I was I a toddler running around organizing the the uh the the the uh diaper drawer and and and uh you know situating the toys and the books? Was I alphabetizing? What was I doing? How did this start? How early did it start? I don't know, but I've been productive my whole life. You've been productive your whole life. I mean productive, productive too, by the way. Not just somewhat, not just talk about it, productive, right? You're not lazy. There was just always a next thing. A season. A person who needed you. It was a fire to put out. And every time, every single time you told yourself that after this one, I'm finally gonna slow down. One more task. One more task, just one more on the list, one more person to help, one more achievement box to tick. Then you'll slow down. But the then never came, you never did, and you're tired in a way. Five cups of the strongest coffee you can make doesn't budge, no amount of energy drinks, doesn't even begin to touch. You lay down and your body just keeps running. You take a day off. Sure you take a day off. Who wouldn't? But the thing is, you spend the whole day off bracing for the day off, the after, the day after the day off. That whole day you're off. You spend that whole day going, oh man, I'm gonna get slammed. You know, it's just like uh you have a beautiful day. There's some people, I try not to be around them. There's some people that if it's a beautiful day, they say, hey man, it is beautiful. Like I'll say to them, hey man, it's a beautiful day. What a wonderful, wonderful thing. How blessed are we? Oh yeah, but we're gonna pay for it. We're gonna pay for this beautiful day. It's beautiful, yeah, for sure, but it's gonna pay, we're gonna pay for it. It's it's it's the gambler's fallacy. Yeah, you know, I haven't hit, I haven't hit in so long, but then boom, I'm gonna hit. Stupid. Does it math doesn't math? So you spend that whole day off, and during that whole day off, you're worried sick over what's oh man, that email's gonna be full. Oh man, what if there's something in there? They're gonna fire me, you know? I just don't know what's gonna be in there. When I go back to work, I'm going to open the emails and I'm going to find a mountain. Yet another mountain I've got to climb. Somewhere back there, you lost, I don't know, back there. You lost the ability to just be still. And nobody warned you it was nobody, nobody said, hey man, you don't learn to be still. You can lose this thing. And I guess maybe here's what nobody told you. I don't know if they did or they didn't. I don't know your life. The God who made the world, and all of it, he stopped on the seventh day. Not because he was tired. Come on. Rather, because he was building something into time itself, and he built it for you before you even existed to need it. Today, God hands his people a calendar, and the first thing he writes on it is the very thing you're the worst at. Come on, somebody. Anyway, I see chat is full. That is a lovely thing. Anyway, he stayed and stayed and stayed and stayed shooting video, and the video was awesome. And I so appreciate that. I really, really do, especially given the fact that at that time uh Miss Sherrill was getting ready to, you know, go have her surgery, and it was a big deal. By the way, all the ones we've been praying for that had surgery, um, we're gonna continue to pray. We need to add Miss D uh to the prayers. Every day she will improve. Um, I'd love for you all to meet Miss D and Mr. Larry. Oh my lands, I love those people. Amazing human beings. Anyway, talk about some productive people, but now all of a sudden, gotta stop. Have something big happen, you gotta stop. It's one of the biggest things I struggle with. I don't know about you. I can't stand. I said it yesterday, I'll say it again today. I cannot stand to see people doing work and I'm sitting there looking at them. Yeah, well, I got a good reason. Nobody can see it, but it's inside my chest. I got another good reason.

Hey, look, this is the anchor day. Friday, I mentioned Fridays, Fridays. I like Fridays just as good as any other day, but I love Mondays. I do, I love them. Mondays are hard because I got a big show the day before, 6 30 p.m., same channel. Wouldn't kill you to click on subscribe, click that little thumbs up. If you like it, I don't know. So anchor day. You know, Friday's our anchor day. And it's a big one. We're walking all of Leviticus. Leviticus 23. Not the whole thing. Come on. We're walking all of Leviticus 23. The morning God hands Israel a calendar. Was it one of those big fold-up ones?

You know, I love those ones that go up on the wall. By the way, there's electric ones now, electronic ones. Um, my daughter and son-in-law have one, and but there's big ones, uh versions of it that go up on the wall. You mount them on the wall and it's like a little TV, but it has your calendar. It interacts automatically with your phone. And um it puts your whole week up there. So if you know you use an iPhone, it's super easy, it's geared to the iPhone. Um, you whatever's in your calendar goes up there, and you can customize it. Like if you have little kids, like they do. One's got to go here, one's got to go there. You can have different colors. Wife has one color, the husband has another color, the children have you know what I mean? It's it's awesome at helping them be on time and not forget things.

By the way, I didn't trim my beard. Didn't trim my beard again. Yeah. I'm gonna get to it, Rafi.

I'm gonna get to it. He's he's always on me. He says, Man, you gotta trim that beard tight. I can look sharp, make you look young. I don't think it's gonna make me look young. When as soon as I trim it, all the dark goes out of it, poof, like I, and then and then all the dark's laying on the floor, and then but I have to wait till my hand is less wobbly, a little bit you know, sharper. Uh because I, you know, I cut my eyebrows off the other day. I don't know if you know that. I made a big mistake. That happened, it happened, but I don't want to make a mistake with my beard, but I've done it. I don't know y'all out there that have beards, but I've had a beard off and on for, I don't know, 30 years. I couldn't wear a beard in the military, but then after that I had to grow a beard for one of my jobs. And and then um, you know, anyway. So yeah. You know, I've had my beard this long, all the way out to here. I have to find a picture and put it up there sometime. Anyway, I hope y'all can see the um, I don't know if I change it during the episode, if you can see it, still this tired. And and the woman, I kept making her more tired and more tired and more tired. I try to think of people I know, by the way. Energy and health drink. It's called Bloom. They're not a sponsor. She likes it strong and she likes it hot. Nothing in it, and then go right to sleep. I don't know how she does it. I can drink one cup a day. One, who knows? Yeah. Anyway, interesting. I always like to know what you know people do. Anyway, so we're gonna gather the whole week. We're gonna sweep it all up into one pile, and then we're gonna talk to you about it. By the way, if today finds you worn to the bone, like that poor lady, that poor lady on that thumbnail, good land, she's tired. Have you ever been like that? Boy, I have. You know, I have passed out with my foot on the brake, car in gear or drive, right in front of my house, asleep.

Yeah, woke up in the morning, sun came up, and I was working midnights.

I was a police officer working midnights, and all of a sudden there's cars starting around me and all this, and here I am out. I have no idea when I fell asleep. I didn't know I was asleep, and I was so tired. Good lands. Carolyn puts creamer in hers. By the way, don't use the powder. I just found out the other day that powder's poisonous. I didn't know that. I didn't, I had no idea. I had no idea what they put in it. A little half and half, man. Organic. Oof. Yeah, man. So yeah, I've been, I've been that tired. I don't know if you have, but I have. And uh it's actually happened a couple of times before I got hurt. So maybe today it's got you worn to the bones. Today's one of those days. Even if the honest answer is just I can't remember what the last time was. I can't remember. I think it'll help you to see. There are more like you than you think. Hey, listen, God whispers to us in our pleasure and he shouts to us in our pain. I used to go, go, go, go, go, go, go. Never stop, never stop. I said, Miss Colleen can tell you, I I existed on three to four hours of sleep a night. Four was a long night of sleep because my days were long. And then God shouted to me, and I got hurt real bad again, but this time did me in. And I had no choice. He whispers to us in our pleasures, and he shouts to us in our pain. We'll talk a little bit about that in a second. Here's what the first hearers knew. The ancient Near Eastern culture, the ancient Near Eastern people, what they knew. And and what really we've lost in the postmodern Western evangelical world. Oh, Miss Carolyn says, Oh, she's listening on the West Coast too. I forgot about that. My dog just woke me up at 4 a.m. LOL. I had forgotten that you're listening. Some of you are listening, I can actually see. Some of you are listening on your phone. If you're listening on your phone, depending on which one you chose, you you turn it portrait or turn it sideways. Either way, uh one of them will fill the screen if you're listening. If you're chose the horizontal, but I think most of you have chosen that. But anyway, doesn't matter. Look, we've lost this. We've we've lost what the first hearers of this. What I'm about to tell you, what we've lost it. And in the postmodern Western evangelical world, with all the modern, with all the modern conveniences, we've lost it. Every culture in the ancient Near East had a calendar full of festivals. Egypt, Canaan, Babylon. All of them. Almost all were farming festivals, and they were tied to the turning of the year. And almost all were tied to a God who died when the crops died and came back when they came back. The calendar retold the cycle of nature. Round and round, every year the same. Now, watch Israel's calendar. Watch it do what no calendar around it did. Right? Really see this. These feasts are agricultural too. They land on the barley and the wheat and the final ingathering. But not one of them retells nature. Every single one is anchored. It's anchored to something, the Israel, the calendar of Israel, the Hebrew calendar. It's anchored to something God did in history to real people at a real time. Listen, you can be angry at the Jews all you want. Let me tell you something. Let me tell you something. You want to know why the Jews don't get spun out over the world, like when they actually have to defend themselves against uh people right next door on land that they gave them, um, and they're trying to kill them. And they tell people in the world proudly, hey, we're gonna kill all the Jews, we're gonna run them into the sea. From the river to the sea means we're gonna kill all the Jews, including the babies. We're gonna kill them all. Then we're coming for you to America, we're coming for you to the West. We're gonna kill all you non-Muslims. It's reality. You know why they don't get spun out? Because when by the number of six million or more, they were put in ovens. Nobody came. No ally bombed rail tracks. When they saw people being loaded on trains, nobody bombed it. To stop it. Nobody intervened. Nobody in the world, not neighbors in Europe, not neighbors in Germany, not neighbors in Poland, not neighbors anywhere in Holland, anywhere there were Jews. Nobody came to help them. And six million of them were slaughtered, and nobody came. You wonder why they handled their business never again as now. But I'll tell you another thing. If it weren't for the Jews, we wouldn't have any of these. You say, why do the Jews still practice those old things and do those things, putting up the Sukkot thing and um, you know, all that? Why do they do it? Now, not all of them do it, not all Christians observe everything. Why'd they do it? They do it to remember because if they forget, the world forgets. We wouldn't have had this Bible, we wouldn't have had this faith were they not that way. Every single one, every single festival is, every single one is anchored to something God did in history to real people at a real time. Passover isn't the spring, it's the night Egypt lost its firstborn and Israel walked out. Sukkot isn't the harvest, it's the wilderness, the year's intense. Come on, feel the difference. The nations remembered a story that never happened on repeat. By contrast, Israel remembered a rescue that did. Hey, look, I know it's an apples and our vars comparison. Israel's calendar wasn't decoration on the farming year. By the way, I apologize if I'm running over my words. I didn't have my speech therapy this week, and um I'm a little bit mumbly, or I try to do my little exercises, but I so I apologize for that. Try to hang in there, try to hang in there. Israel's calendar wasn't some decoration on the farming year. It was a memory device engineered by God to keep a forgetful people tethered to the moment he saved them. Listen, you remember while Moses is up there getting the getting the you know the tablet, Ten Commandments, they're down there making a golden calf. Short memory. Man, don't you remember just right back there? When I split the sea and you walked on dry ground, a whole nation, and then boom. When you clear, the last person clears, last Israelite clears, the water caves in on the wall of water caves in on the army that was following him and wanting to kill him, and it killed them all. You you forgot that? You forgot the manna. You forgot all those things. The manna may be anachronistic, but the point is still the same. God engineered these things to keep a forgetful people. We're forgetful. We can't look at the Israelites and say, oh, those forgetful people, oh, those ungrateful people, we're ungrateful. We forget. But God engineered that calendar tethered to the moment he saved them. Look on my phone. On my phone, I thank God for this technology. On this phone, I have two calendars. Actually, I have four or five, but on this uh two, the two main ones are the regular calendar, right? And then I have the Hebrew calendar. Why? Because because I study, I study this word and and I study it as best I can in Hebrew, Aramaic, and the Koine Greek. And those are the calendars. God built a nation's memory into its calendar because he knew they would forget, and he knew we would forget. So they're actually, thank you, Robbie, for your feedback. I appreciate it. And already a translation quietly made a decision for you you didn't know about. A lot of Bibles just say, and hey, no shade. A lot of Bibles just say, these are the feasts of the Lord. Feasts is fine. But it points you at food and a party, and that's not what the Hebrew says. You say, well, why do they translate that way? Because they didn't know Hebrew. They didn't know Hebrew. What? Wait. Some of the translation teams, maybe the Bible that you've carried your whole life, some of the translation teams, they didn't know Hebrew. They guessed. Yeah, I know. Don't hate the messengers. Reality. All right, whatever. It pushed the Bible forward. It pushed the scriptures forward. Wasn't in, I mean, it was intentional, but it wasn't, I don't think, malicious. But that's not what the Hebrew says. And if it was said, Lashon Hokkadesh, the language of God, you're gonna hear more of that at the end here. But Lashon Hakadesh, Hakadesh, the Hebrew, that was the language of God. And in the Hebrew, it said the word is Moedim. Moedim. We've talked about it. Uh, my dear friends, um, Myra and Jerry, or Jerry and Myra, they've been on the show. It's in YouTube. I save all these episodes. You can watch them after the live. They're not Jewish. But they do them because they were never put away. They were never stopped. We stopped them. Might be missing a little connection to God, right? Oh, but it's such a pain. I don't have time. Come on. We got a million excuses. Well, we're in the age of grace, not the age of law. Moyd means appointed time, a fixed meeting, an appointment. That's what it means. The ESV catches it, the English Standard Version catches it with appointed feasts. The complete Jewish Bible, the one I lean on the most. Of course, I go to the original scripts and all that, but the one printed Bible that I lean on the most is the Complete Jewish Study Bible. And it says designated times. The plain word feast. Listen, we think of, oh, I'm going to go to Jimmy John's and feast, or I'm going to go to wherever, you know, Oceania. Which I love that restaurant. And I'm going to feast. Neither of them are sponsors of this show. And they probably wouldn't even approve of this show, but whatever. You get my point. Feast. We think of food, right? We go up to Philly, we're going to get cheesesteak. Man, we're going to feast. Feast loses the point. Here's what you here really, here's what should stop you. The same word, Moedim. It shows up in Genesis 1. Verse 14. And look, I think I wrote, I think I wrote the basis of this. I've told you I have millions of words written, um, literally not figuratively, right? Over the past couple of decades, maybe two and a half, three decades. And so I've I was a writer and uh I I wrote a lot. And so I wrote the structure for this a long time ago, what we're doing here, walk in the story of God. I wrote it for me. I didn't write it for anybody else. I was just writing it. Some was academic work, but that, you know, is neither here nor there. And I say that to say this when I was when I was looking at this, it blew my mind. You know, understanding changes over time. The more you read it, the better you understand it. The more you pray and you say, God, show me what this means. Show me what you really mean here. And and as time went on, I had a professor named Dr. Skipmo, and I quote him very often. Um, he was at once the hardest professor I had and the one that challenged me the most, but he was also the one that changed my paradigm. And it was difficult because it meant that I had to be this how I am now, when in the normal, you know, they invite you to come and they'll pay you, they'll take a love offering, they'll do a, you know, whatever, and they'll have you come to churches, big churches, small churches, whatever. They'll have you come, but they don't much like this, how I do things. They don't like it. And I have been invited and I've gone, and the reception was lovely, and and all that. One church asked me to be the pastor. We thought they were gonna kick us out. We backed the car in. I'm telling you that right now.

It's crazy, right? You don't know what God's gonna do. They were a KJV only. They in fact they stipulated. When they invited me to come preach, they said, Hey man, we use the KJV, the authorized version. I said, Well, if you've listened to any of my work, you know that's not one I use very often. But I'm gonna use what I'm gonna use, and I'm gonna use multiple ones, but multiple translations that I trust. I may quote something from the KJV, but I don't do it often. The point is this that word Moedim, it shows up in Genesis 1. And when I when I came back to this, structuring this thing, I have to do a little bit at a time because my brain can't. The processing doesn't happen very quickly. After this, I'll be exhausted. And by exhausted, I mean exhausted, exhausted. But this word, Moadim, you can't forget it, Moedim. Genesis 1, verse 14, where God sets the sun and moon to mark the Moadim. Come on, it's a big deal. The appointed times, the the these meanings weren't invented at Sinai. God wired them into the orbit of the moon before a single Israelite was alive to keep them. Come on, somebody. They tell me moonrise over the mountains is one of the most beautiful things you could ever see. Same as sunrise. Sunrise is over the water, the oceans he created, and you stand in all. I was a photographer, I took bazillions of sunrise pictures and sunset pictures, and I never ceased to be amazed. There was never a sunrise I got up for that. I was ever disappointed. I said, Man, that was a waste of my time. No, every single sunrise you see, it's worth it. It's a gift. He wired it all in. There's a second word beside it. It's called Mikrachodesh. Mikra Kodesh. Holy convocation. That's what it means. Holy convocation. Mikra comes from Kara. To call out, to summon. Convocation is a little bit soft. Summoning is closer. Convocation, hmm. Gentle. A little too gentle. Summation. Maybe command. God isn't proposing or suggesting a gathering. He's calling one. Look at the possessive. My appointed times. My underline that in your notes. Amen, Scaline. Amen. My appointed times, not Israel's festivals. His. He owns the calendar. He, the God of all, Adonaiolim. Now watch what he schedules first. Come on. I want you to get this. Disconnect from whatever's distracting you right now. I want you to hear this. You must absolutely must hear this. Now watch what he schedules first. Verse three: six days you work, but the seventh is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy Your Bible may say convocation, but summoning. Before the calendar of the year, the calendar of the week, before Passover, the ordinary seventh day. Before he did any of those other things, seventh day. God's first appointed time is not some big spectacular thing. It's weekly every week. And it's about stopping. You never get to keep another appointed time in your life. If you never get to keep another appointed time in your life, he wants this one, Shabbat, Sabbath. Why? It's not about going to church. It has nothing to do with that. He wants this one, and it's the one almost nobody keeps. Postmodern Western evangelical Christians argue about what day it is. They say, no, it's on Sunday. And some argue, this, I mean, my argument is it's Friday, Friday sundown to Saturday sundown. That's what scripture tells us. It was changed later. I talk all about it. And in a you can search True Word, Faith for Life with Dr. Sean YouTube channel. It's the one with about 4,000 subscribers. So that's the one you want to search. I have a backup channel. Ignore those. Um that's in case I get demonetized. Hopefully, they won't demonetize all of them. Not demonetized, deplatformed, because I don't want to get any money off of it. Um, but you click, you click on that, you search for Shabbat, S-H-A-B-B-O-T or A-T, and then or or uh Sabbath. You search for those, you'll find them. I've done several, and I go deep. I give you all of the history. All fully footnoted, by the way. So then the year falls into two clusters, with a long silence between. The spring cluster comes fast, and tight Passover, Pesak, the lamb and the blood, unleavened bread, the bread of affliction with no time to rise, first fruits where the priest waves the first sheaf of barley before the harvest is gathered, because you give God the first, you give him the first, and you trust him for the rest. Then count fifty days to Shivot. Weeks, which the Greeks called Pentecost. Two loaves waved before the Lord, and this time strangely baked with leaven. Pinch that between your cheek and gum, because you're gonna need that in a minute. Then the calendar goes quiet. Months of ordinary work. Months. And then all at once, in the seventh month, the fall cluster, trumpets, a day of sound, atonement, the holiest day, and Sukkot, seven days living in a booth. I absolutely do believe Yeshua Hamashiach. Man in the north asked, You believe Jesus is the Messiah? I 100% believe that Yeshua Hamashiach, Jesus the Messiah, is the King, the Messiah, the Savior, my Redeemer, and my Lord. You bet I do. And I will die with that on my lips. Seven days living in a little booth, little little poorly built tent, a shelter that leaks on purpose, by the way. It leaks on purpose. I am not a messianic Jew. However, I am, he asks, he or she, I don't know. It says man in the north, but um, are you a messianic Jew? This is what he asks. And and I've answered this question many times. I'll answer it again because it's a fair question. Um, if I was, it wouldn't matter. I I would be proud to be that. But um, I am a follower of the way, right? Follower of the way, and what that is, is that's what everyone that followed Yeshua when he was alive and and post-death. That's what they were called. They weren't called Christians. That was a pejorative. That was a pejorative, especially after he died, and they were hunting them down, trying to find him and kill him. Well, so I'm not a messianic Jew, I'm a follower of the way. I am not Jewish, but I wouldn't be ashamed to be Jewish. I hope that helps you. So the there's the shelter that leaks on purpose. Verse 43 says, Why? So your generations may know that God made Israel dwell in booths. When he brought them out of Egypt. Sukkoda is an amazing, amazing observance. It's something to watch and be. It didn't bad house. That's, you know, they weren't sleeping outside because they were going on a camping trip. No, they were observing, they were remembering. A family with a good house sleeps outside in something flimsy. So that a child asks, why? Why are we doing this? By the way, did you notice that house we just left over there? Why are we sleeping outside in this thing? At least it's cold. So when a child asks why, the story is a story about slaves who got free. Now I want you to come back to the tired sleep. That tired poor, that tired poor lady. You've been there. Just about everybody has. I want you to come back to the tired sleep doesn't fix. The exhaustion that sleep doesn't fix. I want you to look at what God did for a people he knew would run themselves into the ground. He did not give them a feeling. He didn't say try to rest more. Do better. He knew how that goes. Because you know how that goes. The good intention that never survives contact with Monday. Oh yeah, you say, I'm gonna rest. Then you spend the entire weekend running.

Running, running, running. So by Monday you've shot it all to heck.

So God didn't hand them a suggestion. Look, Shabbat is not a suggestion. He handed them a schedule, a command. He fixed the dates, he anchored them to the moon so they couldn't drift. That moon that he hung in the sky. He made them holy and non-negotiable. And he put the first one, the stopping one, on every seventh day. Look, you can argue all you want about when the seventh day is. Look, I don't care. When I was in law enforcement and other tricky careers, I didn't have Sundays off, and sometimes when, you know, I didn't I didn't know anything about Friday Shabbat. I just knew Sunday, right? Most people do. And so, you know, I didn't, I had to work. Can't go, hey man, I gotta stop this murder investigation here. I gotta stop this thing I'm doing, this little mission I'm doing. Oh, you couldn't do it, but when you can, you set it aside. You shabbat when you can. Pick a day. I'm gonna talk more about that in a second. Almost finished because here's the truth swimming under a mask, under the it's swimming, it's swimming actually without a mask under this whole chapter. And it's the truth. I'm s I'm the bearer of bad news, maybe, but it's the truth about you too. You will never rest by intention. Well, I intended to. Nobody does. Rest isn't scheduled. If it's not scheduled, it doesn't happen. I have friends that lead a very disciplined life. If if you're uh fortunate enough to be a guest in their home, you will be treated like royalty. There'll be a welcome basket up on your bed full of all your favorite things. I kid you not, in a beautiful letter, the handwritten letter. They're the most amazing hosts I ever. I don't know how they do it. But when bedtime comes, they will politely wait for you to finish your sentence. And then up you go, and they'll give you a hug, a real hug. And then off you go. They'll go off and they'll go to sleep. They do their bedtime routine and they go to sleep. You say, man, that's kind of rude. No, no, no, no. Intention means nothing. It's the doing. Remembrance, you might want to write this down. Remembrance that isn't scheduled fades. Ask any family that swore they would eat at the dinner table more. Even eat dinner together. More. Good intentions don't hold time. Only appointments hold time. Hey man, let's get together sometime. I'm I've been missing you. I really wish we could see each other more. Hey, tell you what, let's put it in count. Hey, get your phone out. Let's work on the schedule right now. Let's finish it right now. God put rest on the calendar because he knew you would never schedule it yourself. I noticed what the rest was. Not you collapsing behind a closed door with a screen, too fried to speak. That's not Shabbat. That's not Sabbath. That's exhaustion with the lights off. God's rest was a gathering. People together, remembering out loud what God had done. You don't rest by disappearing. You don't rest by stopping and turning toward him and thinking about the thousands of other things going on. Turning toward him while you're like this. No! Put it down! Put it away. You say, what if somebody asks to get a hold of me? What am I gonna do? He can wait. He can wait. My friend Man in the North is on a bit of a journey with religion himself. Heavenly Father, God of all, I pray that you help this fellow, you know his real name. Help him to see you, help him to find you. Supernaturally, I pray that you be all over him. Let him see you. Let him see that it's not about organized religion, that it's about a relationship with Adunaioluim, Yeshua Hamashiach, Ruach Hakodesh, the God of all, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit. I pray this in your matchless name. Amen. Listen, you don't rest by disappearing. That's just part of it. Because after the gathering, you gotta go back to your family and you go back to your home, whatever that is, apartment, house, town house, doesn't matter. You go back and you rest. You rest by stopping and turning toward him and toward the people he gave you. He gave you your family. Listen, you want a concrete obedience step? Here it is. Here's your step. And you can do it before this episode ends. I'm not kidding you. You can do it right now. You can accomplish it, finish it, make it happen. Open the calendar on your phone right now, not later. Now put one appointed time on it. Lock it in. One fixed block this week that exists for nothing but to stop and turn toward God, name it. Don't put free time. Pick something like Shabbat hour or Sabbath hour. Hour! I'm not asking you for a whole day. Start with an hour. Come on, you can do an hour. One day, one hour. Do that so future you can you can't pretend it's optional. Set the alert. Set the reminder, set the second, the third, the fifth, the eighth, the ninth. Set the alert. Then defend that block of time in your phone like a meeting with the most important person in your life because it is. Now, let's pray for Devin Crewe. I don't know what you need. You know, if you don't, if you can't, you tell me you can't do an hour, that's pitiful. Don't be pitiful. You set that alert. Do it now. What are you waiting for? Defend that block like a meeting with the president, the prime minister, the CEO, whoever is the most important person you can think of. But this one is God. Because that meeting is with God. Yeshua was crucified at Passover when a lamb had to be sacrificed.

He is the lamb. Of God that was slain for you.

He lay in the tomb during the time of unleavened bread. No corruption in him. He rose on first fruits, the feast of the first sheaf in Paul. The Apostle Paul or Shaol says it out loud. Christ has been raised, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. And fifty days later at Shavut, when Jerusalem was packed with pilgrims from every nation, because the calendar had summoned them there. The spirit fell, four feasts, four fulfillments, in order on the exact day. Somebody say, Glory to God and amen. Welcome, Nazirahim. Hallelujah, hallelujah. Glory to his holy name. Amen. He is the Passover, my friends. He is the Passover lamb. He's the perfect one. And he is also the first fruits of the dead. Now I want you to go back to those two Shivotes, I told you that they wave Shivot, baked with leaven. It's the only offering in the whole system that is. Two, not one. Some of you is gonna this is gonna blow your mind. What I'm about to say. Two loaves, not one. Connect. Don't let anything distract you. Two loaves, not one. Jew and gentile brought together, leaven still in them, waved before God as accepted anyway. That's the church written into the calendar of creation before the book of Genesis was even over. And Sukkot in John 7, Gospel of John, verse 7, Yeshua goes up to the feast. By his day, it carried a water ceremony, a priest pouring water from the pool of Salon at the altar, while the people prayed for rain and remembered water from a rock. On the last greatest day, Yeshua stood up on in the middle of it and cried, If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. He stood in a ritual about water in the wilderness, and he said the rock was him. The calendar was never about harvest, it was always about him. So, as I do every time, challenge and a choice. I have for you today, a challenge and a choice. So the choice today is small. It's so small and yet utterly enormous. The one with no appointed time for your own soul, where rest only comes where your body quits on you. Total exhaustion. A calendar hits a destination, and you already know it. Because you're tired. You're tired reading this. Every bit of scripture, you've you're tired when you read it. You're tired when you read this account. You're tired when you're going through your mail and you're like, oh Lord, I could just close my eyes. You've been at stop lights, and then you take a little nap. I used to ride a motorcycle everywhere I went, and I remember being so tired, I would close my eyes just for a second. I told you I fell asleep with the car in drive right in front of my house. I was so tired. You know that tired. You can do that, or you can do what God did. Write something holy into your week on purpose. Decide that the God who scheduled your rest before you were born is worth one. Start with one honest hour of your total attention. One hour, come on. Start with an hour. Surely you're busy, absolutely. Most good people are. I know you're busy. Listen, you have you're an important person, I get it. But surely your busy, important life can spare an hour. For the one who gave you that life in the first place. Surely, surely you can. One calendar ends in collapse, the other one ends in shalom. Which one do you want? Prayer isn't asking for an easy journey, it's asking for a strong back. Pray with me. Father, you didn't leave our remembering to good intentions. And thank you, thank you, thank you. Because our good intentions have failed us for years. We confess, we've run calendars with no appointed times on them at all. We rest only when we collapse. We remember you only when something forces us to. And we've been tired in a way we've never even brought to you. Because we thought it was just the cost of being alive. I ask that you teach us to stop, not to collapse, to stop, and to gather and to tell your story again. Put your rhythm into us for weeks. Put your rhythm into us, into our weeks. How we live, Father. We ask that. Humbly. Please make us people who do something strange enough that our children finally ask why. My God, you wrote rest into the world before we needed it. Father God, we ask that you help us stop striving long enough to receive it. And I pray this. In the name of Yeshua, the spotless, the perfect Lamb. Amen. Look, maybe under all of that, maybe under all that tired and exhaustion. Maybe there's a deeper thing. Maybe you've striven your whole life to be acceptable to God. Maybe even to everyone. You're you just want to be liked. And you've never rested because you've never believed you've done enough. Hear this. The appointment is already made. The Lamb already came. You don't earn the seat, you receive the seat. It's that. Look, if that's you, don't wait for a better moment. Because there isn't one. There's just this appointed time right now. Pray this with me. Don't delay. If you believe it, pray it. Solve this issue once and for eternity. Pray this with me, Yeshua. I need you. Yeshua, I need you. I believe you died for me. And you rose from the grave. I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me. My sins, my hurts, my habits, and my hang-ups. Fill me. Lead me. My life is yours. In your name. Amen. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.
