Who Carries YOU?

You're the strong one. You know, in the family. You're the strong one. It's you that gets the call at 2 a.m. It's it's it's you that holds the family together. You cover the shortfall, you carry the worry nobody else even knows is there. And when something breaks, people look at you and you fix it. But let me ask you the question that nobody asked you. Who carries you? Who carries you? When you lie down with the whole the whole weight of the world still on your chest, who's holding you up? When your strength runs out, and some nights it does. Who is underneath you then? Today I want to show you a man getting dressed, I know. Weird. It's an ancient ceremony. And it looks like it has nothing to do with your exhausted week, but every thread God puts on this man preaches one message. And it's for the person who carries everyone else. And wonders if everyone or anyone is carrying them. That may be you. And if it is, please uh good morning, good morning, good morning. By the way, I have great news. I have incredible news. Is this day 81? Yeah, maybe it is. Uh deep, deep on, deep and exodus, echodos, shimot. And if this is feeding you, by the way, um a lot of this grows out of, I've written, I've I tried to count on the other day, I don't know how, but um it's over it's over 4,000 um documents that I've written. Over 4,000 things. I've written um actually more, I've published two books, but I've written several more than two books. Um, and I have, I don't know, 30 gigabytes, 46 gigabytes. I have 46 gigabytes that I've been able to track down and put in the one little drive. And so that's where I get a lot of this stuff and uh continuous daily study. That's how I do it. And I went to school for it, uh, learned all about the ancient Near Eastern language culture and context, but then I got hurt. And uh um it's a bad, it's a bad deal. It's a bad deal all the way around. So anyway, so this is about I try to put the religious pieces together, and I try to get people ready for God's word to make sense. Somebody out there, this is for you. I know one person in particular, I've known him most of my life, and he's that guy. Anything happens, even not just among his family, but his his friend group. Even just his friend group, he's the go-to. I don't think anybody but me goes to him and says, Hey, you doing all right? I don't think, you know, I don't think he listens. He's stubborn. And if he listens to this, he'll know I'm talking about him. But so so my point is this. Who's got you? Like in the thumbnail, who's got you? Man. I'm gonna do this. I wasn't gonna, but I'm gonna. And I think you're up to it. I don't think this is above or beyond your your capability. It's one word. Take some vulnerability. Good morning, Dragonfly Three Wings. Good to see you. Haven't seen you there in a while. So before we open the text, I want you to drop a single word in the chat or in the comments, wherever, for the thing you've been carrying that nobody sees. Doesn't need to be a sentence. Just one word. Believe you me, I'm reading them. And by the way, you're not the only one typing. So here's where we are. Yesterday, God gave us plans for the tabernacle, right? The Mishkan. The tent where he himself would come and live in the middle of the camp. In the ancient Near East. Well, in the ancient Near East, the gods lived, the gods, they lived far off, behind temple walls, reachable only by kings and priests. And here the God of Israel is moving into the neighborhood. He's not lowering your property value. And he's pitching his tent in the center of theirs. Wow. But that causes a problem. Right? It causes a problem. The problem is so sharp, the rest of Exodus is built around it. An holy God has moved in next door to a people who are not holy, and holiness and sin cannot share a space casually. Somebody has to stand in the gap between that presence and the worn-out people in the tents. So God appoints a priest. And notice what his garments are for. The priests of the nations are they dressed to impress the gods and marked their status. Aaron is dressed to carry the people. So chapter 28, Exodus chapter 28, verse 1, God sets apart Aaron and his sons to serve him as priests, as Koanim, in Hebrew. And the two central pieces of what he puts on this man are about carrying. First, the ephod. Verses six through fourteen. It's like a it's like a vest, ephod. And on its two shoulder pieces, God sets two onyx stones, engraved with the names of the twelve tribes, six on one shoulder, six on the other. Verse twelve. Man, can you imagine having this on your shoulders? You ready? Verse twelve. And Aaron shall bear their names before the Lord on his two shoulders. Hold that word. Bear. In Hebrew it's Nassa. Spelled like Nassa. Nassa. Spelled Nun Sin Elef. It's to lift, to carry, to pick up a weight. Isn't that something? NASA that we know in America lifts great weights from the earth into the heavens. And this means to carry, to pick up great weight. The shoulders are the place of strength where you carry what's too heavy for the one you're carrying. So when the priests walk into God, he doesn't go alone. The whole nation goes in lifted onto his shoulders. Every tribe, every tent, every tired, exhausted person carried in on the strength of the mediator. Then the piece over the chest, the breastplate. In Hebrew, it's Josan. Or kosen. Spelled Shin Nun. Square pal. Tolkien gravestones.

One for you to drive. Where does he wear it?

Verse twenty-nine. So Aaron shall bear the names of the sons of Israel on his heart when he goes into the holy place. There's that verb again. Names on the shoulders, names over the heart, strength, and love. And watch what your translation quietly hands you. The ESV, your English Standard Version, brings them to regular remembrance. The complete Jewish Bible says continuing. The Hebrew is tummy. And it doesn't mean regular, like a scheduled appointment. It means without interruption. Always. Every time he enters, every time he enters, the people are never, not for one moment, forgotten before God. Breathe that in. Tammy, thank you so much. So as long as they ring, the mediator is alive and still serving in there. Hold on to that sound. Hold on to that. Put that right just a little bit back there. Keep a little string on it because you're gonna need it. Then the crown of it. Verse 36. A plate of pure gold on the forehead, engraved with two words. Kodesh Laadonai. Holiness to the Lord. Kodesh Alonai. It's almost said almost like one word. Holiness to the Lord. And listen to what that plate does. Verse 38. Would you want to be this guy? Verse 38 reads thus. Aaron shall bear the guilt of the holy things. Here we go. Third time. It's the third time we see Naza. Can you imagine? Bear. Nasah. The third time. He lifts the names on his shoulders. He lifts the names over his heart. And now he lifts the guilt on his forehead because even the people's worship comes stained. And the priest carries it so their gifts can be received. I want you to hear this. To bear a name and to bear away a sin, or in Hebrew, the same verb, the same act of lifting a weight the other person could not lift. Then at the end of chapter 29, God tells us what it was all for. Verses 45 and 46. Are you ready? I will dwell among the people of Israel and will be their God, and they shall know that I am the Lord their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, that I might dwell among them. There it is. I will dwell among them. The exact words from yesterday, the priesthood was never the point. The whole reason for the shoulders and the heart and the forehead was to make it possible for the holy God to live in the middle of a sinful people and stay. Everything serves the dwelling. Now, come back to that question. Who carries you? This ancient ceremony says something to the exhausted person, the person with the weight of the world on their shoulders. No matter how tall or big or small you are, physically, the weight of the world rests on your shoulders. There is a mediator whose entire design, shoulders to heart to forehead, is built for one thing to carry people who can't carry themselves into God. You've spent your life as the strong one, bearing what nobody sees. Financially, physically, the work of your hands, the very beds that they lay on at night made by you. Purchased by you. Carried by you. And God's picture of a priest says the deepest truth about you is not that you carry, it's that you can be carried. You were never meant to walk into God on your own strength. Nobody was. So the weight you carried to bed last night, the name that sits heavy on your chest like an elephant, the failure you can't set down. Hear this. There is someone whose very joy is to bear it into God for you. You don't have to be strong enough. You just have to stop pretending you're the only one holding the rope. So here's your one thing of concrete obedience to do today, small enough to do before you leave the house. Small enough to do before you even leave the room you're in. Take the name, the one that you've dropped in chat, or the one you didn't dare type. Write it on something. A sticky note, the back of your hand, I don't care, whatever you do. And this morning, out loud, hand it over. Say, I have been carrying this on my own shoulders. Today I am putting it on yours. Then leave it there. Take your burdens to the shoulders of the one who could carry it always. Leave it there. When it creeps back onto your chest at noon, and it will, say it again. You aren't carrying that name in today. You're not carrying that name into today. High priestess. Because here is who those garments were pointing at the whole time. There was a high priest that Aaron was only a shadow of, and he is better in every way that counts. I think you might know who he is. Aaron carried the names on stones, and stones can be set down and lost. Yeshua, Jesus, carries your name in his own scarred hands. Not engraved on onyx, written into wounds that will never close. Aaron wore the people over his heart. Yeshua was pierced for you. And he carries you in a heart that still beats. Aaron bore the guilt of the worship. Yeshua bore the sin of the entire world.

The whole world.

And he bore it away. Because that is what Nassa always meant. And the bells that said the priest was still alive in there, ever wonder about that? Aaron's went quiet. He died. And another took his place, priest after priest after priest, because death kept interrupting. But Yeshua holds his priesthood permanently, because he lives forever, and so he always lives to intercede for you. His bell never stops. Right now, your name is over the heart of your high priest in the presence of God, engraved on the hands and the heart of the Son of God. Forever I have. I have for you today a challenge and a choice. You have a real choice today. You can go back and pick the weight back up and go on being the one who carries everyone and is carried by no one. Because at least that feels like control, at least that feels like you're wanted or needed. Trust me, you're wanted and you're needed, even without all that. Here's the or you can admit you were never built to be your own priest. And you can let someone stronger carry you in. That's not weakness. It's the first honest thing you've done in a long time. I thought about this when I was writing this. I know a lot of people, a lot of amazing people. I've been very blessed. I have 29,000 contacts in my phone. Literally. I have to buy the giant one so that it'll hold it. But I know billionaires who carry the weight of companies on their shoulders and sit at night and cry because the stress is immeasurable. I know famous people who the world thinks they've got the world by an oyster. Or they've got, you know, the world is their oyster. The world got it by the tail, you know, life has got it. But here's the thing. There was a saying, a guy that used to work with Miss Colleen. You don't know my life. And it's true, we don't know ever other people's lives. We think we do. We see a little bit in peace. And we make a judgment. There are lots of people around you. Maybe it's not you. But there are lots of people around you. They can't recognize the weight on your shoulders. And you've always handled it yourself. You've snarled and growled, but you've helped in the middle of the night. On a Saturday when you were doing what you love to do, and you get a call. I need you. So-and-so needs you. And you're there with a solution. I want you all to hear this prayer. I want you to listen. And I want you to pray with me. Prayer isn't asking for an easy journey, it's asking for a strong back. Heavenly Father, we come before you today as tired ones. You know we're exhausted. So many of us have been the strong shoulder for so long. We forgot that we were ever, we were ever allowed to lean. Father, we confess that we we've tried to be our own priest, lifting names and guilt and worry that we were never meant to carry alone. I just thank you. We thank you for a better high priest, and that our names are on his shoulders and over his heart right now without interruption. For the one carrying the weight. For the one carrying a weight that they've never handed to anyone. I ask that you let them feel, maybe for the first time, that they are the one being carried. I pray this in the name of your son Yeshua, our high priest, our redeemer, our savior, and our king. He ever lives. Amen. And maybe you're realizing you never actually let him carry you at all, ever, not even once. You're out there because I I get messages from you. Maybe you're sitting there and you're going, hmm. And to you, you can't stop carrying yourself. You can't stop carrying yourself right now. Hear it. Hear it. I don't want you to breeze past this.

One more day. You can stop carrying yourself right now. You don't have to clean yourself up first. That's the whole reason there's a priest.

So come today, just as you are, and let your name be lifted onto the heart of the one who lives forever. I want you to pray this with me once and for all. Deal with it today, right now. Pray this with me. Yeshua. I need you. I believe you died for me and rose from the grave. I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me. Leave me.

If you just pray that just like Jay did yesterday.

If you just pray that something real just happened. This this is not some fanciful sort of thing. It doesn't mean anything. It's real. You didn't pray into the air. You didn't come up with some sky daddy. No, no, no. This is real. And one day every knee will bow. Scripture tells us one day every knee will bow. But your name is now where it is always meant to be. It was always meant to be on the heart of a high priest, Yeshua, Jesus, who will never set it down, who will never leave, and will never die. I want you to find some people of the way, some believers. Doesn't matter who it is. Doesn't matter how they respond. And tell them, tell one of them. Just one. Pick one and tell them today. Whether they respond well or they don't, that doesn't matter. You were never meant to carry this alone, and now you don't have to. I'm here to help you, to encourage you, to give you resources, and I don't ask for anything in return. You were the strong one for so long. But the shoulders were never yours to begin with. There is a high priest whose bell still rings and whose heart still holds your name. Lay it down. You are carried now. One more thing before I go. Stop scrolling right now. Somebody is scrolling right now. You're scrolling right now. You're trying to get this out of your head. Whatever you just are trying to get it out of my head. Somebody scrolling right now is carrying a name they cannot say out loud. They're sure that they are the only one. They're not the only one. Send them this. Send them this episode. I don't get a toaster. I don't get anything for it. Just send it to them. You might listen, just so you know, most of my episodes, they don't monetize at all. And I'll tell you why. You might be the shoulder that carries them to the one who carries us all.
