The time God gave He came through. The door that finally opened, maybe it was the diagnosis that turned. And you tell that story well. You tell it with joy. You tell it with gratitude. And you've told it for years. There's a question that catches in your throat every time you tell the story. As soon as the room goes quiet. And that question is, when is the last time you did something new? Not the story on the shelf that you tell so well. Something this week, something recent. Something you could name right now if someone in the room asks you. You've been living off that old meal for a long time, and it's starting to taste like a memory.

You keep reheating the same gratitude, and you keep wondering why it doesn't fill you up like it used to. There's a reason for that.

And it's buried in a chapter most people skip. God put a clock on Thanksgiving on purpose. And today we find out why. We're on day 92. Can you believe it? Never thought we'd get here, right? Day 92 coming up on the big 100.

And we're walking the whole story of God in order. And today we've reached Leviticus 6 and 7. And if you're new here, this is a daily chronological verse-by-verse walk through the scriptures. Rooted in Hebrew and Aramaic, and when we get to the New Testament, Koine Greek, and the world, it was written in the ancient Near Eastern world, the language, the culture, and the context. So thank you, Miss Colleen, for the sound check. I appreciate that. Good morning to everyone. So before before we open the text, maybe one word in the tech in the chat. I think it's two or three people that do it. I don't I don't know why. I don't know what the reluctance is. By the way, I have an update on Sharon. She's doing well, she's you know, in some discomfort, but she's itching to get home, but uh she is doing well, and uh more surgeries to come, but I don't know if you guys know, but she was in a horrific car crash. Horrific. And um, yeah, it was really, really a tough one. And um, not recently, but the damage is was so massive that you know to to talk to her, you'd never know it because she's the happiest person, but there's a reason she's so happy. Anyway. So before we open the text, one word. One word, that's all I'm asking for. Just you know, you don't have to put a compound sentence or any kind of thing there. I'm just asking for one word. In the chat and comments, wherever you want to put it.

The gratitude you're running on today is it fresh? The gratitude not what you wish were true. What is true? Is it fresh or is it stale? The gratitude you're running on today, the pressure's down. I don't know what it is for you, I can't speak for you. I wish I could speak all the good stuff into existence, but I can't.

So here's here's something. Good morning, good morning, good morning. Back in chapters, and then I say it's easy to miss, it's easy to miss, and most people skip over. Amen. Amen. Thank you, thank you for participating. A lot of fresh in there, but that's okay if there's some stale. That's not a reflection on how much you love God or any of those things. We'll get we'll get to that. If you're one of the people that's it's stale, you're you're kind of looking for fresh, but right now you're in the stale. So this is easy to miss. Back in chapters one through five, God kept repeating one phrase. Speak unto the children of Israel. Whose chapters were for the worshiper. Here's what you bring, here's how you come near. But at chapter six, verse eight, the audience changes. The audience changes. Now it's command Aaron and his sons. Everything from there to the end of the chapter seven is the priest's manual. Same offerings, same altar, completely different vantage point. And here's the world behind it. In the ancient Near Eastern world, priests were a wealthy landed class. Israel, Israel's Israel was kind of built backwards. Levi got no territory, no inheritance. Their whole portion was God Himself and what came off the altar. That whole section is, the whole section is organized by one repeating word. The Torah of the burnt offering, the grain offering, the sin offering. Torah isn't only law in the courtroom sense, it's instruction, teaching, direction. God isn't handing his servants a rule book, he's teaching them. Let's start with the priests eating, chapter 6, verse 16. The grain offering. Aaron and his sons eat it in the holy place. Good morning, Miss Tammy. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Tuby continued twenty five says, I'm looking dapper in the morning and sounding good. Thank you, brother. I appreciate that. So chapter six, verse sixteen, the grain offering. Aaron and his sons eat it in the holy place. Verse twenty six the priest who offers the sin offering eats it. Chapter seven.

Verse six. The trespass offering Eaten.

God sets a table for his servants out of the very offerings his people bring. These men have no crops of their own. Their whole life is in a tent. God says, Then you'll eat from the altar. The Apostle Paul or Shaol builds an entire doctrine on this. Those who serve at the altar share with the altar, and those who preach the gospel should live of it. You ready? I'm going to say it again and see if you catch it. But Paul's whole doctrine is built on this. Those who serve at the altar share with the altar. And those who preach the gospel should live of it. God didn't want his servants distracted with survival. Where's my next meal going to come from? Where am I going to sleep? No, he wanted them focused. He wanted them at the fire. They need to keep the fire going. He started the fire. Keep the wood on the fire. Take out the ashes. Now, watch this. Because it cuts the other way. And it's the most piercing line in the entire chapter. Verses 19 through 23. Aaron and his sons have their own grain offering to bring. And listen to verse 23. For every meat offering for the priest shall be wholly burnt. It shall not be eaten.

What?

Read it again here. The priest eats from everybody else's offering, but when he brings his own, none of it comes back. It all goes up. He gets nothing. The man who lives off of the altar doesn't get to live off of his own devotion. I know this one from the inside out. There's a real temptation in ministry to feed yourself on your own output, to let the study become the prayer. And he says, No. When you bring me your own offering, it burns. All of it. And you come back to my table empty-handed like everyone else.

Wow.

We'll handle that. But anyway, um, so look he eats off of the other offerings, but his own He can't touch it.

That seems like such a such a tough moment, right? Like, are you kidding me? I don't know. At first that that hit me. It just hit me. I I remember going to preach places and they would invite me to come, and of course I always ask, Are you sure? Have you listened to my stuff? Because my stuff's not the normal stuff. And when you when a regular church calls me and says, Hey, will you come preach? I you know, they're they're they're almost always very gracious and very kind. And uh, you know, they say, Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's why we're invited. But when, you know, they take an honorarium and it might be a tiny church. I'll tell you what, the tiny churches are more generous than the large ones. But it's just it's a shock to my system. And sometimes I reflect on this passage. Okay, am I supposed to take this or anyway? We'll get into that a little deeper another time, but I'm just sharing with you the vulnerability of it. It hits me on this. There have been some places I've gone to speak and rousing response and all of that. Nobody hands you an envelope. Nobody says, hey, you've come a long way to do this, we appreciate it. Here's a little something to get you back home. They just send you home. Yeah, that's great. Thank you very much.

I think it's funny. Little churches, they're the nicest people, generous, kind, it's amazing. I've been to some that have suppers. They'll have a welcome supper for our guest. I think that's lovely. By the speaking of suppers, I don't know. You know, this could be a question. Yeah, I'll make this a question. How many of you have ever been to a church that has a like a Wednesday night mid midweek supper, family supper? You pay like, I don't know, five bucks, two bucks, whatever. And uh, you know, per person, and then they'll say, well, caps out it, because you know, believers have a lot of babies if they're able. And uh, and so they'll have this thing, and it's really, really nice. It's it's this midweek supper, and and I like it. I I actually love it.

I think it's a very uniting thing.

Put in the comments have you ever been to a church that has a midweek supper and did you attend? You know, it's you know, not attend every time, but I went to a church one time and they had a midweek supper, and it was the best. Those southern ladies, they were in Tennessee. They could cook, boy. They could cook. When the church had it was a large church and it had a it had a uh commercial kitchen and a huge dining hall, and it was so nice. You got to see everybody, and then you went on and you did your classes and your prayer time, and then you came into the into the uh sanctuary. Everybody came in the sanctuary, and we had a couple of songs and we prayed. Thank you, Robbie. Then you prayed, and then the preacher preached a little bit, and then you had an in-earnest corporate prayer time, prayer, prayer meeting. It was powerful. Those services weren't the biggest attended, but man, I love oh, going tonight, Lord willing. Oh, that's great. Yeah, I have to say, I, you know, I think it builds community, I think it builds closeness, and you get to know each other, you know. It's kind of cool. Uh our pastor, he's gone on to his reward, but Brother Ray used to say, you know, meet, go meet somebody you don't know. Don't sit at the table you sit at all the time, you know, with the same people. Go meet people. Hey, can I sit with you and meet them? Talk to them, get to know who they are. I love it. I love it. I always said if I pastored a church that could support a Wednesday night supper, a midweek supper, it's usually around 5:30. It they tried to plan it so that when people finished work, they could just come straight there and stay-at-home moms with kids, they could come there and meet you know their husbands, and you know, anyway. I don't know. I just think it's a it's a beautiful, beautiful thing. And um, I think we're missing it.

I think we're missing it. I really do. And I it makes me sad a little bit.

Now, now that we've done all that, chapter seven. And it's the part I I I wanted, if I could physically hand this to you in your hands today, I would. It's the peace offering. So many people live without peace, without shalom. And right here, before, you know, we go any further, watch a translator make a choice for you and never tell you. Now, I, you know, look, I'm thankful to everybody who brought us scriptures. I collect Bibles, so I'm kind of into it. But you have to recognize there are some things that they were capable of and some they weren't. Some they winged it. You in translation, especially Hebrew, Aramaic, and Coinic Greek, you can't wing it. You can't fake it till you make it. It means what it means, and what it means is really important. So they would kind of wing it, because many of the trans, like for the King James, many of the translators on the translation team of the Old Testament, they didn't speak Hebrew or Aramaic. Remember it, it was a dead language. So no shade on them, but winging it outwise. Been better to put, well, we don't know what this word means. Once we find a Jew, we're not trying to kill, we'll you know, we'll ask them, you know. So watch this translator make make this choice for you. You you they didn't tell you. The Hebrew is shalamim. Shalamim from the root shinlamed mem. The very same root as shalom. Now your King James and your English uh standard version, ESV, call this peace offering. The NIV, New International Version, calls it the fellowship offering. But Sarna and the Jewish Publication Society, JPS, they render it the offering of well-being. Three different English words reaching for one Hebrew idea. And each one caught a different piece of it peace, fellowship, wholeness. It's the offering you sit and eat with your family in God's own presence. And God splits it into three. Verse 12, thanksgiving. Verse 16, a vow or a free will offering. Then he puts a clock on them. Verse 15, the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings for thanksgiving shall be eaten the same day that it is offered. He shall not leave of it any until the morning. He shall not leave any of it until the morning. The same day. Nothing left till sunrise. The vow and the free will offering get a little more room into the second day. But verse 18 if any is left on the third day, it's rejected. And the word God uses is Pigul. Pigul. The King James reaches for A churchy word, abomination. But pigul is earthier, it's grislier than that. It's meat gone off. Rot. Now notice which one has the shortest clock. Which one has the shortest clock? Which one? The sacrifice lasts the long, lasts the shortest, lasts the longest, but the shortest here, thanksgiving. The Toda from the Yuthi Yada. Remember Yada Yada Yada? From Seinfeld? To acknowledge, to confess out loud what God has done. That's the one that has to be eaten today. That offering has to be eaten today. Not tomorrow, today. Why the tightest line of the deadline, the tightest deadline of all of the different types of sacrifices. Why the tightest deadline of all on gratitude? Because gratitude doesn't keep. Thanksgiving is fresh food or it's nothing. You cannot live today on the thankfulness you felt eight months ago. You cannot warm over the gratitude from the season he answered and expect it to feed you in the season he hasn't yet. It spoils. Back in the wilderness, remember? Remember the manna? They gathered it every single morning, and anyone who stored extra overnight found it crawling with worms the next day. He wouldn't let them stockpile his provision. He was guarding his people from a faith built out of memories.

And for those of you who say, Well, I mean, you know, that's just science. Of course, stuff rots.

It's nothing supernatural. Uh it fell out of the sky every day for for every day out of the sky. And it was perfectly nutritious. Um, did you forget that part? Come on. Don't skip over the stuff you you you don't you can't. You're like, well, I can't explain that, so I'm skipping it. Or I'm calling it unscientific, and you say, well, it's rots. That's just science. Uh-huh. The supernatural thing fell out of the sky. God could have made anything fall out of the sky. Anything. And he could have made it keep as long as he wanted. But he dropped fresh food, fresh provision every day. And if you tried to live a second day off of that from this day, try to live tomorrow off of the blessings of today. It's gonna rot, it's gonna build worms. Come on, somebody get that. When you understand scripture in its whole, my lands, what a beautiful thing. You you then you ask yourself, hey Dr. Sean, why do you love scripture so much? This, this right here. I love scripture so much because of what it brings, what we what we've been going through. We say, Well man, when are we gonna get to the New Testament? Man, when we gonna get there, you're only in Leviticus. I thought this was the Bible in the air. Who cares how long it takes? Do you want to know it, or you just want to gloss over? Man, I skip over that kind of stuff. I'm not into that. Do you want to know the character of God or do you not? Stop saying you want to know God if you're unwilling to invest in these things and understand these subtle nuances, and some of them not so subtle. In some translations, they didn't know what to put, so they made something up. Do you want to know or don't you? That's the way I teach. Ancient Near Eastern language, culture, and context. Why? Because it all matters. Little things don't mean a lot, they mean everything. And the fact of the matter of it is, if you want to know God, you have to want to know his book and his language and the culture and the context. The language of God. You either want to know or you don't. You either want deep, rich faith or you don't. Stop saying, why is why is my experience with God so thin? You! It's never been him, it's always been you. You're the common denominator here. If you want to know him, know his word. I'm presuming that's why you're here. I hope that it is. I don't know your life. I wish I did. I wish I did. I will tell you. There move me around a little bit there.

I wish I did, folks. I wish I did.

So I could show you in every day. Go through. Wait a second. I do have a way to do it. It's every day here, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, Sunday's 6 30 p.m. We summarize and deepen all of this.

I want you to have what this book offers you. I want you to have it.

And to the best of my ability, in my limited state here, I I try to chew it up a little bit for you, pre-digest it.

But I can only do so much.

Folks, you've got to invest in this. You've got to invest in reading the word. Listen, if if the only time your Bible ever gets open or your Bible app ever gets open, by the way, I'm I'm not an anti-Bible app. I have a million of them. I have a million of them. And I have one enormous um academic app that's called Logos. And it's huge. It's I've got 2,500 books in there. I've got almost every translation of the Bible there is in there. Because mama said I couldn't add no more bookshelves. So had to come up with some alternative. If it was up to me, I'd have a house, I'd have a library, a huge library, floor to ceiling. You need one of them little ladders, although I'm not allowed on a ladder, not even a step stool. I thought some way or another I would have it. And I have books, floor to ceiling. Come on. Not floor to ceiling, maybe waist high to ceiling, a little higher than that.

Beautiful, dark, rich wood. So why did I say all that? I don't know.

I feel like I need you to understand what this is all about for you to get out of it what you want. There are gonna be people that come and people that go, right? There's people that come and listen and then they go. And they go, that's too deep for me. Ah, that's boring. This is I don't want to be a Jew. They'll have every kind of thing, and I'm not mad with them. It's not for everybody. I'm not for everybody. I am an acquired taste. But the bottom line is we're eating manna every day. When I prayed and asked God, literally, prayed and asked God, God, I'm frustrated with this mission that I'm on doing this podcast. I don't know what you want me to do. I want to do what you want me to do.

And he showed me very clearly this. This is what we're doing. I'm not perfect at it. I'm trying my hardest. But I'm here to tell you.

If you think when you go to church every every Sunday, if you go to church, to an actual church, and I encourage you to I'll help you find a good one where you live. I love to do that. Not perfect one. I don't ever say perfect. People people say that and and it's a source of frustration because they there is no perfect church, my friends.

Not a zip doesn't exist. If that's the only time you crack your Bible open, you're in deep trouble.

I'm no better than you. I don't think I'm better than you because I crack my Bible open all day, every day. I'm 100% disabled.

My ticker you know, the TikTok all my life is running short.

Miss Colleen says, I'm gonna outlive everybody. I'm supposed to be dead at 47, 61 years old almost. Next month, I'll be 61. Am I 61 now?

Miss Colleen, how old am I? I don't remember. Sixty something. Anyway, next month I'll be the next one. I do this and it is a labor of love.

I do it first for God and I do it for you. Because I know if you're only cracking your Bible open once in a while, or maybe not at all. Maybe you think studying scripture and and connecting with God is just listening to worship music. I know people that believe that. Many, many people believe that. No, you gotta learn his word, his word, his word to man. You can't depend on a bunch of other people to you know cull it down into a song. And I love music. Miss Colleen can tell you. All these speakers around this house, I've I've blown them out with worship music.

I have these little speakers hooked to my computer in here.

Um it's a tiny room. Joe has actually been to my studio, he can tell you, it's very small. Um nothing fancy. But I have these little speakers, they're little bows. Speakers is not an ad for bows, but I bought these speakers 2010.

Maybe before that. Who's coming? When was my crash?

Anyway. Thank you, Robbie. You're you're very kind. So kind of. Kind of.

Robbie asked a good question. Is that where the pilgrims got the idea for the holiday Thanksgiving? Kind of. It is a scriptural holiday.

They took bits and pieces, but yeah, this is part of it. Pretty cool. Way to make that connection, brother.

So what what I'm saying to you is I have these figures and and I I I've kept them all these years because they withstand the loudness of my worship music.

I say that to say this. That is not studying God, getting to know God. Music is wonderful and I love it. Before I got hurt, I used to be able to sing. And I love singing to God. I'm not ignoring it at all. I find it stunning. God wouldn't let his people stockpile his provision.

He was guarding his people from a faith built out of memories. Because that's the wound, isn't it? Isn't it? You didn't stop believing. Your belief just went to leftovers. You're running the whole engine on one tank you filled years ago. And you can't figure out where the joy leaked. Here's where. Yesterday's manna breeds worms. Yesterday's Toda is already piguled. So the testimony. So when the testimony you keep telling is ten years old, that's not proof you had one great year. It's an invitation to come back. Come back to his hand this morning and get something fresh. So if you want to step, I don't know. I don't know if you do or you don't. You do you. I can just tell you. There's a reason for this. There's a reason for it. You can choose it. You can reject it. You can do whatever you want. Free will. It's small enough. This step, look, small enough for anybody to finish today. Actually, before this hour is over. Today, out loud. Name one thing God has done. Not a highlight reel. Something from this week. It can be tiny. I'll tell you mine. I can breathe this morning. I can take breaths. I can, they're not huge breaths, but I can take more than I've been able to take. I was asleep when the alarm went off. I got up a couple times during the night, but I was asleep when the alarm went off. You say, well, that's stupid. What is that? Brothers and sisters, sleep is it's a villain I can't catch. I sleep in little sips. Pain. Don't ever get it. I don't recommend. Who knows what I'm gonna get into? Got a little bit of energy. I worked hard on writing yesterday. I had a medical exam for a VA thing. And got home and it's it's so hot here right now. The heat index yesterday was 108. 108 or 109. Uh clearly I'm not going outside. I can't breathe in this climate. It's just I can't breathe. You say, well, you know, it sounds a little dramatic. Uh I can't breathe. I go, like that, nothing happens. My body doesn't modulate temperature, so heat just chews me up. Amen. Robbie says I was able to wake and put my feet on the floor. That's a little bit general, but okay, we'll take it. Thank you, Susan. Thank you. Dragonfly Three Wings says he protected me. He's protected me. Amen. I mean, I want you to really dig down on this. Something from this week, it can be tiny. You woke up. Robbie says, I woke up, I put my feet on the floor. That's a good thing. Now I want you to say it out loud, wherever you are, to God, by name, today, and eat it while it's warm. And look, if you can't find one from this week, that itself is the diagnosis. Start looking today. You'll be surprised what's been on the table the whole time. And I want to address this really quickly and then move on to the finish here. Um, because y'all got stuff to do. I got stuff to do. Listen. Gratitude, gratefulness. Have you tried it? I hear, I know, I run across people all the time. Glass is not half empty, it's all the way empty and dusty. You fill it up and they say, Well, that water's warm. I only like cold water. That's all I like is cold water. I don't like this guy. Stop it. I've run across homeless people who are more grateful than most Christians with big old homes. Beautiful cars, beautiful family, opportunity. Homeless and more grateful than that. What about you? Are you a grateful person? Are you a positive outcome person? Are you a look, that was a tough thing, but I'm here. And God still loves me.

Is that you?

I love the Lord and I and I love what He does in my life. Is that you? Or are you dark all the time? Butterfly would never land on you. Because you vibrate with anger and stress and ingratitude. Is that you? I'm not saying it's you. I don't know you. But I'm saying that's a huge problem today. You say my life has been very difficult. You don't know, Dr. Sean. Oh, believe me. Believe me. I understand. I have compassion for that and empathy for that. Amen. Robbie says, ain't that the truth? As for me, I'm so humbled for what I have. Amen. Amen. God bless you. Thank the Lord. You gotta diagnose yourself once in a while and go, hey. It has been tough. But the Lord's been there for me. He's listened to me. He's comforted me. Maybe I don't have a lot, but I have enough. I know a family. And as a family, hold one moment. As a family, they they sold and gave away almost everything in their home. One table and enough chairs for the family and two guests. Intentionally, two extra chairs. And it's not fancy. They have enough dishes and glassware and silverware for themselves and two guests. They have extra towels. Just enough for two guests and them. They don't have a big TV. They have a streaming service. They listen to pastors. They listen to worship music. They do all that. They don't have gaming devices. They don't have any are teenagers. They have teenagers. Well, one is 20. They have an incredible library. They go, each of them to the thrift store and the yard sales and they buy books. Pennies on the dollar. They don't drive fancy. Fancy new cars, they drive older cars. You say, well, they're poor. No, they're not poor. They could afford nice. They had nice. They got rid of it all. You say, well, that's weird. That's stupid. I'm not saying wealth, you should be ashamed of it either. I'm not saying that at all. God, God, I I'm thinking of two very wealthy families right now, the most generous families I think on the planet. And I've watched what they've done. Don't begrudge a wealthy person. A wealthy believer? Awesome. They can do great things. They can employ a lot of people to help people achieve their dreams. Send their children to school and clothe them. All that. Poor man never signed the front of a paycheck. Fact of the matter of it is, this family got rid of everything. Not everything, but everything extra, except for two. When they have guests, the kids who are doubled up in rooms. No one child has their own room, even the 20-year-old. You say, why is the 20-year-old at home? I know. I was um, I don't know, 16 or 17. I was in the Navy. But it's different now. And uh so she's at home, she goes to college, and then she comes back home. And she stays with her little siblings. And nah, I can't tell this story. I can't tell that story. I have to tell that another time. The kids have a party for when sis is coming home. And she can't wait to get home to experience the party. And she brings them little things she made, little things she brought them from college, and they're excited. A family like that isn't accidental. It's intentional. You say, why did they get rid of their stuff, Dr. Sean? That doesn't make any sense. And they said all this stuff. It impeded our ability to see the blessings, the everyday blessings. God has blessed us with so much and we we have obscured it with stuff, material things. We have what we need. I don't know if that resonates with you or not, but I know they're the happiest people on the planet. Happiest people I've ever known. Start looking today into your own life. I think you're gonna be surprised. Because the table has been set for you the whole time. Now, I want to let it all converge here because every line runs into one person. Yeshua. Jesus. Yeshua is both sides of the altar at once. He is the offering. He is the offering, and he is the priest. Hebrews says it in those exact words. Remember the priest whose offering was wholly burned, who kept nothing back? That is him. That's Yeshua. That's Jesus. He offered himself completely, held not one portion of himself in reserve, and the whole of it went up for you. And he is the peace offering that gets eaten. I am the bread of life, Betlechim. Bethlehem. He said, And whoever comes to me will never hunger. On the night he was betrayed, he took the bread, and before he broke it, Luke and Paul both tell us what he did. He gave thanks. In Greek, Eucharistio, which is why for two thousand years the church has called that table the Eucharist, the Thanksgiving. Remember that. The next time your church has an offer, has a communion. It is the Eucharist Eucharistio. Two thousand years ago. And ever since, the Eucharist, the Thanksgiving. So the table you come to is a Toda. Toda. It's a Todah. It lives by the rule of Leviticus 7. And it has to be fresh. He didn't say remember me once. He said, as often as you do this, give us this day our daily bread. Not this month, this day. His mercies are new every morning. Every morning. Which is just another way of saying yesterday's ran out overnight. It's the warmest invitation in the world. You've got a real choice today. Keep living on the stored-up gratitude that's already turning. Telling the old story to a God you used to love. Or come to the table with empty hands like everyone else. And let him feed you this morning. One road ends in a religion of memories. The other ends in him. I want to address something really quick. I want you to choose the fresh bread. But I want to touch on something really quick. And then we're going to pray. A lot of people say, people accuse me all the time. What do you want to be a Jew? First of all, not for nothing. Not a bad thing. I don't know if you know, but Yeshua, Jewish. Adunai Elohim, Jewish. You can banter with that all you want. You can bat it around like a little cat batting around a mouse, but no. It's true. We owe the Jews so much because they remembered all of these. Everything means something deep and beautiful. And it's tough to remember all those things. Listen, it's not easy to be a Jew. There's a lot to it. If you're an observant Jew, there's a lot to it. People throw shade at the Catholic Church, but when they observe the Eucharist, every Mass. I know priests that uh they do Mass every single day, seven days a week. There may be three people, three little old people in the congregation sitting there, old. It's hard for them to kneel, but they kneel and they get back up and they kneel. And then it comes time for the Eucharist and tears. Tears stream down their faces. He tells me all the time. He said, every day, bro, every day. They come and they stand their little broken bodies and they they hold their tongues out. And I put an I put the wafer on their on their tongue. And I say my things and and he said tears every day. Tears of gratitude. Why aren't you grateful for what God gives you? Why? Why? Don't die an ungrateful, shriveled-up person. Die grateful. Die with thanksgiving on your lips. And those little old ladies and those little men, they shuffle back to their homes and they do what they do. And then the next morning, and he says, That's when I know they're either very sick or they fast. He said, I generally am with them. It's been there for, I don't know, 20-some years. And he's seen them all through their hardest things. And he said, I've gone to many hospice centers. And I take my communion kit because that's what they ask for. They say, Hey, I'd like communion in last rites. And he said, with all the strength that they have left, and they're nearing the veil, crossing over. And we do communion one more time. He has a special wafer that dissolves with you just put it on their tongue, and then the nurses or whatever, they have a dropper of water and they drop one drop of water and it because they can't swallow. A lot of times they can't swallow. And then they pray with him, and he holds their hands. Listen, I'm I'm pointing right back at me. Don't think I'm yelling at you. I'm yelling at us. Choose the fresh bread. Choose the fresh bread. Prayer is not asking for an easy journey. It's not. It's asking for a strong back. Father, we come to you with empty hands this morning. And that's exactly how you built it. Forgive us for living on old bread. Forgive us for reheating gratitude we felt years ago and wondering why our hearts went cold. You never asked us to stockpile you. You asked us to come back every morning. So here we are. Here we are, Father. Open our eyes to what you already said on the table this week, the small mercies we walked right past. Teach us to toda. Teach us to toda again, to name out loud while it's warm. Father, feed us fresh, and make our walk with you a relationship and not a memory. And we know our part is to come and to open your word and to pray. We know that's our part. Father, I ask that you help me, help them. I'm trying so hard, and I'm praying that they're getting it. None of us know, Father. You know, but we don't know when the last beat of our heart will be. You know about my police buddies, grandchildren, and son and daughter-in-law. Somebody ran into the back of them at high speed. You know the story, father. And they were they were jammed into a vehicle in front of them, trapped. And the little three-year-old is now with you. I don't profess to understand why things like that happened, but they were on their way home from a trip. I was on my way home for dinner. Father, I'm grateful. And I pray that you help me help them be grateful. I have loved living my life grateful. And you know, Father, you know. When I had everything going for me, physical ability, mental acuity, massive gifts that you gave me to, and I squandered them. And now that everything is so hard, I'm a thousand times more grateful, and I thank you for it. Help me help them. Grab your fresh bread every day in Yeshua, your son's name, my Redeemer, our Savior. Amen. Look, if you've never come to this table at all, if you never once brought yourself to him with your own hands, there's no better time than right now than this one. Whether it's live or on playback, doesn't matter. It's immaterial. Now's the time. There's no better morning than this one to handle this. There's no, look, you don't need old credentials. You just need to come. I want you to pray with don't all the noise going on in your head. Shut it out. Pray this and mean it. Yeshua, I need you. I believe you died for me and you rose from the grave. I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me. Fill me. Lead me. My life is yours. In your name. Amen. Well, all I can tell you is this if you prayed that, heaven is rejoicing. I'm rejoicing. Heaven is all kind of loud right now. One of my children is coming home.
