DONE TO YOU!

You keep thinking you have to clean yourself up first. I thought the same thing. I guess it's normal to think that. You know? I think it's reasonable. In our heads, the way we think, in the natural, before you pray with any real confidence, you gotta clean yourself up first. Before you let anybody call you a follower of God with a straight face. There's a better version of you that has to show up before God will have you. That's what you think. That's what I thought. And this will resonate with Miss Colleen because she's live with me through this. And you're worn out trying to become that person who is acceptable to God before you go to God, before you'll talk to him. You think I'm not deserving of this. I know me. I don't know about you. I don't know about you. But I know this, this is how it happens. You you wait. Yeah, you you'll come to God in prayer when your temper's handled.

When when the the habit, the hurt habit or hang up is finally dead and gone.

When you've strung an you you've strung together enough good weeks to believe your own testimony. Because you know. People love for you to give you testimony, and then you dread it. You dread it some because you don't want to get up in front of people and speak.

But you also dread it because you think you're a phony. We're all phonies. You've been getting ready to be getting ready to be ready to talk with God for years. But here's the question. What if the whole idea you dress yourself for? That you dress yourself up for God. What if it hasn't all exactly backwards?

What if not one person in the entire Bible ever qualified himself or herself?

Not even the high priest. Today we watch a man become the holiest human being in Israel. Watch what he does to earn it. Because the answer is almost nothing.

Some will make you laugh, so don't drink any coffee or tea or anything you don't want to come out your nose while you're while you're reading, because it will, you know, make you do a spit take or it'll come out your nose, and that's not pleasant. I I'm holding myself harmless from any of that. Uh and then there are parts of it where you'll need these.

It's real.

And uh I will tell you this that it is not I say a lot of stuff there that I could never say here.

So it's phenomenal. It's great to have. Crystal. I didn't know that was your name. I'll be dead gum. Anyway, that has nothing to do with what I'm talking about. Anyway, moving on.

So I you know, I ask these questions and I ask them, you know, social media says get engagement. I don't ask them for engagement. Um, I ask them because it puts your mind kind of in the right space for the teaching. And that's important because we have a million distractions in our lives, right? Um, I think it was uh Dragonfly, shorts and wheels. Shorts and reels aren't good at all for our attention spans, which is the entire point, in my opinion. Yeah, no, no, no. I I agree a hundred percent. Um, I do them to give a little snippet to people who are doom scrolling, and I want them to get a taste of teaching that is deeply rooted, a little bit of it. And my hope, my hope is that um I hope that they hear something and they go, hmm, that's me. And uh, and then they might want to come join us and then be blessed by it. That's the whole deal here. And for those who have not yet come to Christ, I I want them to come and and to come to Christ. I mean, that's I want to make heaven full.

You know, make it crowded. It's never full, but I want to make it crowded. So, the question. That thing you you think you have to fix.

First of all, let me just say this. This should resonate with everybody. I don't think anyone is a is excluded from this group. That w that thing that we'll call it one thing. Maybe you have more than one thing, but we'll just say one thing. That one thing you think you have to fix before you can really come to God.

I mean, really, really engage in relationship with Him. That one thing. Is it getting fixed? Are you doing the hard work on it? Or have you just been waiting at the door of your own life for years? Real question. Fixed or waiting? You can just write in in in the comments or you know, in the chat or whatever. Fixed the word fixed or the word waiting? Because that is gonna be important for us. Here's the setup.

Back in Exodos Echodos Shemot 29. Remember we were back there, God described this entire ordination ceremony in advance. I mean in in super detail. Now, in Leviticus 8, it actually happens. The blueprint gets built move for move. The very first instruction tells you what kind of moment this is. Verse 3, Moshe or Moses, is to gather the entire congregation to the door of the tent. Can you imagine that? The whole nation. This isn't done quietly in the back room. Everybody watches. People have to see with their own eyes how the man who will represent them gets qualified. So no one could ever think he qualified himself. I want you to listen to a phrase. Listen for this phrase. Because it's about to start pounding. As the Lord commanded Moses. Verses 4, 9, 13, 17, 21, 29, and 36 seven times in one chapter, a drum beat that will not stop until the last verse. Nobody here is improvising. Every move was dictated in advance by God. As the Lord commands. Now, watch the verbs. Because they carry the whole sermon. Verse 6. Moses brought Aaron and his sons and washed them with water. Before the garments, before the oil, before a drop of blood, water. You don't put holy clothes on a dirty man. And Aaron didn't wash himself. It was done to him. Verses 7 through 9. Moses put the coat on him, girded him, clothed him with the robe, put on the ephod, and bound it, set the breastplate, then the turban with its golden crown. Every one of those verbs has Moses as the subject and Aaron as the object. The most exalted office in Israel, and the man receiving it just stands there with his arms out while another man dresses him. I don't know about you, but that's wild. Just wild. Verses 10 through 12. Moses takes the anointing oil and pours it on Aaron's head, not a dab on the forehead, poured. David sings about this in Psalm 133, the precious oil running down the beard, down onto the collar of his robes. It's extravagant. And Aaron again does nothing but receive it. Come on, somebody.

Somebody make the connection here. Because there, most assuredly, is a connection. Then the offerings. Verse 14. They bring the bull for the sin offering.

And Aaron lays his hands on its head. The man who is about to make atonement for everybody else has to have atonement made for him first. Before he can carry anyone, somebody has to carry him. Thank you. Thank you all for putting your answers in the comments and chat. Listen, he had to have atonement made for him before he could carry anybody's, anybody, before he could carry anyone, anything. Somebody has to carry him. Then the ram of ordination, verse 22. The moment God had described back in Exodus, verse 23, Moses takes the blood and puts it on the tip of Aaron's right ear. The thumb of his right hand and the big toe of his right foot. Then the same for each of his sons. The ear to hear the word of God. The hand to do the work of God. The foot to walk in the ways of God. Not one part of a servant's life left uncovered. Then verse 25. Well, verses 25 through 30. 28. And here the Hebrew opens the whole thing up. It's a phenomenal language, that's why I teach in it. The ancient Near Eastern language, culture, and context, if you don't get that, you don't get it. Yes, it's harder. But it's worth it, I assure you. So Hebrew opens the whole thing up. Moses takes the fat and the bread and puts all of it into their hands. And Aaron's open palms, and they lift it and they wave it before the Lord. Your English Bible calls this the ram of consecration or the offering of ordination. Clean churchy words. But the Hebrew underneath it is Meloim. Meloim. From male to fill. It literally means the filling of the hands. That's what the Bible calls becoming a priest. Not the earning of a title, the filling of empty hands. It came with nothing. In their hands. Empty. Moses filled them. And they lifted back to God what they had just been handed. That's every real calling, right? You don't arrive with something to offer. You come empty. God fills your hands.

And you lift back to him. What did he put there? Whatever you bring him this morning, he handed you first.

Thank you for sharing that. Oh, Miss Sharon. Good morning. Good morning, dear. So nice to see you here, everybody. Miss Sharon. I hope you're doing well. Hope you're improving every day. Massive surgery. Massive. You know, Miss Cheryl, I don't see Joe here. Um, I'm hoping she's doing well. And uh, yeah, that was a massive surgery, too. Super risky. So and here's the crazy thing. They both go to uh the um Virginia Creek Ministries Campground, the Virginia Creek Campground in Surf City. They go to the church there. I've preached in that church. It's wonderful. Pastor Russell, Miss Kathy, blessed people, the people that are there, wonderful people. So Miss Sharon and Miss Cheryl had these huge, massive surgeries. So it's it's good to be with you. We've missed you. Look, I don't want to skip over this. That's something you might want to write down. Whatever you bring God this morning, he handed you first. Verse 30: oil and blood together, sprinkled on Aaron and his garments. Spirit and the sacrifice on the same man at the same moment. You never get one without the other. And then the last piece, this last piece, the one nobody sees coming. Verse 33, seven days. They stay at the door of the tent day and night. They do not go out until their consecration is complete, washed, dressed, anointed, atoned for, hands-filled, fully qualified, and they still can't start. Even the timing wasn't theirs to set. That too was done to them. That's the sentence somebody needs today. There's a stretch in almost every life. God calls where you're prepared and not yet permitted. The training is finished. It's done. It's complete. The door hasn't opened, and it feels like God got you ready and then forgot your name. Coach said, stand up, come on over here. Come on, come on, come stand over here. Come on. Stand up. Get your helmet on. You're standing there, standing there. You know, you're bouncing back and forth. I'm ready, ready, ready. Got my uniform on, got my helmet on, strapped up tight. And then the coach never put you in.

You're waiting there going, what's going on? What is the deal here? I don't understand it. It isn't waste.

He didn't forget. He doesn't count the waiting as the delay before the calling. Somebody. Somebody come on, write that down. God doesn't count the waiting as the delay before the calling. He counts it as part of the calling. Good morning, Joe. We just talked about you and Miss Cheryl. We hope she's doing well. Welcome, welcome, welcome. God doesn't count the waiting as the delay before the calling. He counts it as part of the calling. And some of you are on day four right now. Stay at the door. But here's the thing underneath all of it. Every single thing that has made Aaron a priest was done to him. Right down to his right down to his clock. And that's the exact thing you keep refusing to believe about yourself. You're standing. You're standing at the sink, scrubbing up. Trying to get yourself clean enough. Clean enough. You want to. Trying to get presentable enough to walk in. You are scrubbing your skin almost raw. And you say to yourself, I'll never be clean enough. My hurts, my habits, my hang-ups. The things I've done in my past, the things that I'm embroiled in now. We stand and we look at ourselves. And we say, Why would I ever even think that God would converse with me? Why would I ever think God would interact in my life? Why? Look at me, I'm dirty. I've been scrubbing at this sink for hours and years. And still I'm dirty. I'm too dirty. You're there doing that. And God is standing right there holding the garments, waiting for you to just be still. So here's your step, and it's doable before you leave whatever room you're in. If you're in your car on your way to work, if you're still in your bed because it's early in the morning, and it's dark, only the glow of the screen. If you're sitting out on your front or back porch, maybe you're sitting at your desk and you're trying to take deep breaths, but you just can't do it. Because you're carrying around what you don't need to be carrying any longer. You're ruminating on all of your failures, the things that you did wrong. You did them wrong. It was you. You did it. There's no excuse. What do you do? Here is your concrete step. It's doable before you leave wherever you are. Name the one thing you keep telling yourself you have to fix before God will really have you. Say it out loud. The one thing you keep telling yourself, I gotta fix this. Before God would have any interest in me. Say it out loud. Maybe it's the temper. Maybe it's the bottle you secretly drink. You gotta get a little bit intoxicated before you're ready to deal with people. Before you're ready to do anything. Gotta be a little tipsy. Used to be you didn't start drinking till six or seven at night, and now it's eleven in the morning. You said you'd never drive after drinking, but you do. Maybe it's those pills that you hide away in the in the drawer behind all the other stuff you think nobody will look through. And you have a little bit of a habit. You keep telling yourself you have to fix these things. That temper that you have. You pop off at the stupidest things you think. Your family looks at you, your friends look at you, think what happened? Why are you blown up at me? And so they stay away. The lemon isn't worth the squeeze. Maybe it's the doubt. You are riddled with doubt. You just can't be sure of anything in your life. And then maybe it's the record. It's that rap sheet on you that you think everybody sees. And that you gotta write every single thing on that rap sheet before you could ever come to God. All of those things, I'm asking you to name the one thing out loud before God. It's not about you and me or or anybody else that might be listening right now, anywhere around the world. Name the one thing you keep telling yourself you gotta fix before God will really have you. Then I want you to come to Him with it still unfixed today. Exactly as you are. Come just as you are. Don't clean it first, bring it dirty, and let Him be the one to wash it. Coming to Him is your part. The cleaning is His. Now let all of it land where it was always headed. On Yeshua, and then on you. The book of Hebrews in the New Testament reaches back and quotes this very ceremony. No man takes this honor to himself, it says, and he that is called of God, as was Aaron, and then so also Messiah did not glorify himself to be made high priest. Did you get that? Even Yeshua didn't appoint himself. I want you to watch him step into this chapter's pattern here. He goes down into the Jordan and comes up, and the Spirit descends and rests on him, and the Father's voice speaks over him, washed and anointed in public before he preaches a single sermon. The word Messiah means anointed one. He is what Aaron's dripping head, dripping with the oil. Yeshua is what Aaron's dripping head was pointing at the whole time. And the blood on the ear, the hand, and the foot. The priest's consecration required blood on his hands and his feet. When our great high priest was consecrated for us, the blood on his hands and his feet was his own. And here's what all of that buys you. You cannot qualify yourself. The good news is, because of him, you never have to. Bring the best robe, he says, and put it on him. Put it on him. And when the Greek Old Testament tells Leviticus 8, it reaches for the very verb Luke uses right here. The Son didn't wash first. He didn't dress himself. You know, the Greek reaching back and trying to describe a scene. It's from the Old Testament, but bringing it forward to the new. It's not accidental. The son didn't wash first, he didn't dress himself. He just came home and he let his father clothe him. He had messed up. He was dirty. Smelled like a pig pen. So you've got a choice this morning. Take it if you want. Keep standing at the sink. Scrubbing yourself. Saying, I'll come when I'm I'm finally clean enough. Which is to say, never. On our own, we can't get clean enough. Your challenge and your choice is as simple as this. You could do that. Stay at the sink. That's worked well. Scrubbing, scrubbing, scrubbing. Keep trying to get it together. You keep trying to. I'm not gonna go to God. I still got work to do on myself first. And you never can. Neither can I. But your choice is this: or, or, or drop your hands, come just as you are, and let him wash you and clothe you and fill your hands like he has wanted to all along. One road is a lifetime of getting ready to be ready. The other one starts today. Stand still. Stand still. Stop moving. That anxiousness. Oh, I hurt my spine. I shouldn't have done that. It was dumb. I should stand still. Lesson. Note to self. Stand still and let him wash you. Let him clothe you. Prayer isn't asking for an easy journey. It's not. I never want people to think that life in faith and being a follower of the way is in any way, any, any way. An easy life. It's not. It's not. If you come asking for an easy journey, somebody has sold you a bill of goods. And I'm not going to do that. But I will tell you this. You will never, ever, ever regret coming to Christ.

I am telling you, I wouldn't change it.

I would not change it for anything. I wouldn't. Prayer isn't asking for an easy journey. It's asking for a strong back. Father, we're so tired. We're so tired trying to dress ourselves for you. Forgive us for standing at the door, scrubbing, scrubbing, and scrubbing. Certain we have to arrive clean before you'd ever have us. You never asked us to qualify ourselves. You asked us to hold still. So here are our empty hands. I ask that you wash what we could never wash. I ask that you clothe us in a in a righteousness we didn't weave. I ask that you fill our hands. And to everyone waiting at the door today, you're prepared and you're not yet permitted. Give them the faith, Father. Heavenly Father, give them the faith to stay and to be still. I pray this in your Son, our matchless Savior, Redeemer, and Friend, Yeshua Hamashiach. Amin. Before we go on, Robbie, I want to say this to you. Nicole's right. Forgiving your family, sometimes they've done the most horrible thing. The people that hurt us the most are the ones that are closest to us. They have the most access, and we want our family. We want to be secure in our family. We want to be safe with our family. And very often, our family is the very thing that hurts you the most. I want you to know this. They're not perfect, neither are you. Mine wasn't perfect, neither are mine. We could stand and throw rocks all day long, or we could hand it to God and ask him to give you the strength. I used that word intentionally. To forgive your family. We do it out of obedience, but we do it out of a quest for shalom. A quest for shalom. Peace. Serenity, stillness. Sometimes it's just about making the decision. Because, see, if we hold on to hurt, we're doing that intentionally. It's not an accidental act. We're doing it intentionally. We remind ourselves and remind ourselves and remind ourselves. Firsthand, I know this firsthand.

We remind ourselves of the thing that hurt us.

And that justifies a lot of things in our mind. Look, I'm right, I'm justified to feel this way. Look at what they did to me. That's real. And very often what they did to you is a horrible, terrible thing. And sometimes it's an injustice that no one should suffer. Forgiving isn't exposing ourselves. I do a I do an episode on this on True Word, Faith for Life with Dr. Sean YouTube channel. It's the one with about 4,000 subscribers. And so you say, well, why are you telling me that? Because we have a backup channel, just in case we get deplatformed. We're doing that because it's happened. How to forgive. And I do, I think, three episodes on it. How to forgive your family. How to forgive the people closest to you. It's difficult. I'm not gonna lie. That is not an easy journey. But when you turn it over to God and you stand there and you let Him clothe you in His righteousness, because forgiveness is an act of righteousness. It's imputed righteousness from Yeshua. He shed blood on the cross and he rose again on the third day, just like just like the prophecy said. Forgiveness is a release from jail. Forgiveness is the elixir. Now that doesn't mean exposing yourself to more hurt. If it's a toxic family situation, you know, I teach you in that episode or those episodes why it's okay to stay away. I talk about holidays, you know. You you dread going to the holiday, Thanksgiving, or Christmas, because you know it's going to be fighting all day long, or people are going to be from your own family, they're going to be making fun of you. They'll pick at you, whatever it is. They find your weakness, they pick at it. Whatever means of toxicity that's going on there, they'll do that. Sometimes that's what they do. But you know that's not every family. The fact of the matter of it is, now you're grown. You're informed, you know better. So you don't live like that, and you forgive, but you don't go back into the you don't go back into the into the fire intentionally. You don't go back in to be hurt. You say, well, that's my family. And this applies to everybody, by the way, if you're listening. And you're living in a situation of terrible hurt. Maybe it's it's that drunk relative, maybe it's your brother, or your sister, your mother, your father, whoever it is, whoever it is. And you dread it, man. You got you're you're you've made your pies and your cakes and whatever, your casseroles and your dressing, gravy, whatever. Whatever it is you made, you made it and you poured over it, but in your gut, it was burning in your gut. Ugh, I dread this. Then the entire drive to wherever it is you guys get together. You're just sick to your stomach. The closer you get, the sicker you get. You sit in the driveway for a second, then you take a deep breath, and you go, okay, maybe it won't be as bad this year. And then you go in, and it isn't long before you find out, yep, it's this bad or worse. I teach that to forgive is not tantamount to exposing yourself to that every single year, every single day, whatever it is, it's not. Forgiveness is a thing between you and God. Listen, if you've never once let him wash you or clothe you or anoint you, make you clean. If you've never come and simply stood and let him make you his own, there is no better time than this one right now. You don't need to be clean first. You just need to come just as you are. We're gonna pray now. And for those who are listening who said, I've never I've never placed my faith in Christ. I've never I've never asked for forgiveness of sins for my hurts, habits, and hangups, I've never done that. I've never acknowledged him as Savior. I want you to pray this with me. Are you ready? No, no, no, no. Your mind is saying, No, no, no, I'm not ready yet. I'm not ready yet. Well, some of you are afraid because you think, what do I have to give up? Trust me, what you're getting, what you have to give up, pales in comparison. You say, Oh, you don't know, Dr. Sean. Let it go. I'm telling you right now, you'll never regret it. Pray this with me. Yeshua, that's just Jesus, that's his real name. Talk to him. He's eager to hear you. Yeshua, I need you. I believe you died for me and rose from the grave. I surrender my life to you today. Please forgive me. Of my sins, my hurts, my habits, my hangouts. Please forgive me. Fill me. Teach me, lead me. I'm yours. My life is yours. In your name. Amen. This one rejects the first five books because we've been washed in the blood of the Lamb and we're now in the age of grace. Well, that's true, but I'm not going to go into the argument now, but Yeshua He came not to abolish the law, but to fulfill it.
