TRUE Word, Faith for LIFE!
You've sat through Bible teaching that never changed a thing. Opinions dressed up as truth. Depth that needed a seminary degree to follow, or shallowness that asked nothing of you at all.

This is not that.

True Word, Faith for LIFE! walks the whole Bible in a year, in order, the way the story was actually told. I take the Hebrew and the Ancient Near Eastern world Scripture was born in and make it plain, so you see what the first hearers saw, then walk out knowing what to do with it today. No watering down. No insider language.

Every episode lands on Yeshua, and every episode lands on your real life.
If you're tired of confusion and ready to actually live your faith instead of just studying it, you belong here.

Key Takeaways

  • Caleb waited forty-five years for the fulfillment of the promise God made to him at Kadesh Barnea, yet he never let go of the vision.
  • Instead of asking for an easy life in his old age, Caleb requested the mountain controlled by the giants known as the Anakim.
  • True faithfulness means wholly following the Lord without holding back, even when waiting decades for His promises to manifest.
  • God has the ultimate authority over our lives, and waiting on Him is not standing still, but continuing to follow Him fully while we wait.
  • Believers must often leave behind or prune away negative voices and naysakers who try to melt their hearts with fear and doubt.

Did God FORGET His Promise?

YOU were sure He spoke. The kids, the marriage, the calling. Then the years went by and it all went in a drawer.

One man waited forty-five years. Then he asked for a mountain.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Bible say about Caleb and the mountain in Joshua?

At eighty-five years old, Caleb reminded Joshua of the promise God made forty-five years earlier and asked for the hill country of Hebron, where the giant Anakim lived, successfully driving them out just as God had promised.

How long did Caleb wait for his promise?

Caleb waited forty-five years from the time he spied out the land of Canaan at Kadesh Barnea until he finally received his inheritance in the land.

What does it mean to wholly follow the Lord like Caleb?

In Hebrew, the phrase used for Caleb means 'I filled up after the Lord,' representing a life fully surrendered with nothing held back and no parts left half empty, continuing to trust God through every trial and delay.

SPEAKER_00

You were young when you first believed. You you you were. You were young when you first believed it. Maybe you were I don't know. I don't know your story. Maybe you were kneeling at Kneeling at an altar when you were nineteen. Maybe it was a verse that jumped off the page the week your first baby was born, or your best friend had a big event and that verse just jumped off the page. You were sure God had spoken. Your children would serve him. Your marriage would be healed. One day you'd do the thing that you believed he made you for. But that was a long time ago. The kids grew up and they walked away from the faith. The marriage didn't heal. Or it ended. Calling went into a drawer. And now you're older. And people talk to you like your your best years are behind you. So you've quietly stopped asking. Because if God really promised, wouldn't He have done it by now? Today, pardon me. Today in Joshua 14 through 16. An eighty-five-year-old man walks up to Joshua with a promise God made him forty-five years earlier. And he doesn't ask for a rocking chair. He asks for a mountain. So any resource I used, boom, right there. True word, faithforlife.com. It's free. So I have a a question for comments below or the live chat. Are you still waiting today on something you believe God promised you? You know, and and I usually will say, you know, uh, I don't know your life. And I'll usually say this one's an easy one. This one isn't an easy one. Are you still waiting today on something you believe God promised you? Miss Linda Anzoulis and Mr. Vic Anzulas. They have both gone on to their reward, and I miss them terribly. I miss Miss Linda. She was in her eighties, and she was as precious as they come. Her Bible knowledge was encyclopedic, but her understanding of God was whew incredible. Hello, Pamela. Hall 6574, welcome. Hello, Miss Tammy, Miss Colleen, to be continued 25, Miss Nicole, good early morning. Wakes up at four in the morning to listen live. And hello, Miss Susan, and all of the others. I've figured out now how to make that thing bigger on the screen. So, which is cool. Now I can read it. Anyway. The question itself is simple. It is. Are you still waiting today on something you believe God promised you? If you are, type yes or waiting in the comments. And if if you've seen him keep it in your life, you've seen it happen, then type received, the word received, if you've seen him keep it. Man, think about it. This is a tough thing because sometimes believers are afraid to say, hey, I'm I'm still waiting, God. Why? Why is it? Thank you, Miss Bamla. Thank you, Nicole. Thank you, Joe. You know, it's funny. Not funny, ha ha, but funny a little bit ironic. People looking from the outside in. Thank you, Miss Nicole. Thank you, Miss Tammy. People from the outside in looking in our lives, they have this perception. One of the interesting things I found in protecting, you know, mega millionaires and billionaires is the common perception is that they have everything together. And that they have somehow or another received the believers, the ones that are believers, they've received it. Because here, looked obviously. And I've known very successful pastors, you know, huge churches. And they would tell you, no, I don't, as much as I'm trying, I'm um, I don't, I don't think that I've received it. And then there's that, sometimes there's that thing that in that whole thing, that whole process, the part that falls to us. But the super, super hard part, the heavy, heavy, hard part, is when you really believe, God, I know you have this for me. And the years tick on, and you're still waiting. For some, it's a sense of shalom, a sense of peace, a sense of just a little bit of peace. So we go back 45 years to Kadesh Bania at the southern edge of the land. Kadesh Bania. It's on the outer southern end. I'm looking at it on my screen, the big, the bigger screen, on that screen, I'm looking down above through the clouds, to the ancient Near East, on the globe. A southern end. Numbers 13. Moses or Moshe sends twelve men to scout Canaan. Ten of them come back and say, We can't. We can't. The cities are fortified, and the giants, oh the giants, the Anakim live in Hebron. Numbers 13, verse 22 even even names three of them. Ahim, Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talamai. But only Joshua and Caleb disagree. Caleb says in Numbers 13, verse 30, let us go up at once and occupy it. For we are well able to overcome it. Wow, that's confidence. How many of you started off super confident? Right? You started off super, super confident. You were pumped when the Lord revealed to you, hey, I'm gonna answer that promise. You were stoked. You were ready. And then you waited and you waited and you waited and you waited. And then sometimes, sometimes you saw the thing, this and the thing that God said to you, this is for you, this is what I have for you. Sometimes, man, oh man, you said, Okay, Lord, right? And you were trembling. It was a lot. It was it was pushing and stretching what you believed your capabilities to be. Amen, Miss Nicole. And then God humbled me. Received, and then God humbled me. Now that's getting real. The people wanted to stone them. Let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it. This is Caleb. Caleb is disagreeing. Caleb says in Numbers 13, verse 30, let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able. We're well able. We can do this. You ever been with somebody and their spiritual realm of their life is just their life? It's it's not a separate thing. Right? It's their they're they're on the calm shores of life. They're they're at the mountaintop. They always see things. Look, uh I wrote something in my journal the other day. My son and daughter-in-law gave me this pen, which I have on me pretty much all the time. I actually slept with it last night. I I um had it on. I sleep in a shirt. Um, that's too much information. But anyway, I forgot to take it off as if I'm gonna write a note in the middle of the night. Don't think I won't because I have. But they got me this journal. I'm not gonna say the name of the journal because they're not advertisers and I'm gonna give them free, whatever. But it's a cool little journal. And my son and daughter both both do this, and and I love it. I think journaling is powerful. But I wrote in my journal yesterday, you're either a builder or a destroyer. There's generally no middle ground. You either lift people up or you tear them down. You are either positive and hopeful, or you're negative and dark. I don't know which one you are. There are times in my life I've been both. And there have been times in my life, most of the times in my life, where I said, Let's go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it. And these were life and death things. I wasn't being brazen or anything like that. I knew my training, I knew my capabilities, and I said, okay, let's get this done. Let's get it done. Yeah, okay, it's dangerous. We're gonna try to mitigate that danger by this strategy, this plan. And we are committed, and we've trained. And, you know, as you get older, this is just me being real with you. I don't know how old you all are. But I'm 61 years old and totally disabled. I'm a totally different human being than I was before. And and you if you know me now, but you didn't know me then, this sounds, but Miss Miss Colleen can can testify. There wasn't much I wouldn't do. I wasn't all willy-nilly, and my security because of my past has always been very, very high. But there wasn't much I didn't feel like I could do no matter what it was area it was in. But now, 61 years old, all banged up, busted my head again. I just got my glasses back yesterday. Y'all may have noticed I didn't have my glasses. These were the glasses I had on when I fell. And this was the fall, the one that Dr. Walker has warned me about, warned me about, warned me out, training me in physical therapy to avoid. And sure enough, it happened so fast I didn't even know I was falling. The first thing out of my mouth, I think, other than the chip tooth, was um I f I fell. I was still laying on the concrete, and I remember saying it. And I think I was looking at Podcast Puppy, and I, because I was walking him, we're getting ready to do the rest of the trip home. I said, I fell. It just shocked me. You know, it wasn't something that I ever could see coming. Right? So we live in our capabilities, and our capabilities either rise or they fall. They rise or they fall. Reality. I wish I could say, I look, I look at some of these um social media, they have these people, and it'll say, I'm 78, and they'll do all these wild things in their body. But you know, you can't hardly believe anything. But I want to believe that these people really, there's this one woman, I follow her thing because it's uh she does stretching, right? And she does all these wild stretches and everything. I'm like, good Lord. Before I even ever got hurt, I couldn't do that. You know, I'm multidisciplinary black belt, and I couldn't do some of the stuff she does, even at my stretchiest. Anyway, my point is, is you look at that, where they are, and you look at where you are, and you say, Man, there's a big difference. There's a big difference. I can't do that, I'm nowhere near it, right? This, they're they're trying to go into the land of Canaan. And Caleb and Joseph, that Joshua, they're like, we can do this. We'll go up at once. Well, let's not wait. Let's not wait around. We're going to go, we're going to occupy it because we are well able to overcome it. And people wanted to stone them. Is there anybody in your life that as you grow in the Lord, as you grow in your faith, right? You're a follower of the way. And look, I say it. I'm going to say it in a little while. I say it when I when I give the invitation, because every time I preach, no matter where I preach, I give an invitation. It's a promise I made to God. And God has, He has reminded me repeatedly. Never think anybody is outside of being ready. You never know. I've had people place their faith in Christ, and two and a half hours later, they were dead and they weren't sick. Two and a half hours. The thief on the cross. He didn't have time to clean up. He didn't have time to learn all the churchy words. He didn't have time to go out and get him, you know, a collared shirt and wide tie, thin tie, black shoes, brown shoes, black belt, brown belt. He didn't have time. I know, stretchiest limber. Miss Susan, I'm making up words. The math teacher is busting me on my words. I knew somebody was going to. Anyway, you're right. So there are gonna be people in your life, and I and I, like I said, I'll mention it, and you will find it to be true that sometimes you place your faith in Christ or you you come to Christ in a deeper way. There's that moment where your faith goes from being just a person of faith to a follower of the way. And believe you me, there's a big difference. It's not some ascending of a ladder, like I'm a scumbag. Trust me, I'm I'm not throwing rocks at anybody, I'm not picking them up. But the people wanted to stone them. And you have people in your life that want to drag down that thing that you just, man, God has a conversation with you in the night or on your way home, or you're in the grocery and you're like, oh my lands, the Lord is speaking to me. It hits you. And then you you want to tell somebody. First of all, you you stop and you go, I don't know if I want to tell somebody because it's kind of out there. But then you want to tell somebody, you want to share with somebody. So you go, well, who is the person who who would who would have great joy over it? And then you tell them. And they don't respond in the way you'd hoped. I've had two people last not last week, two weeks before that. Two people contact me and say, I did what you said. I did what you said. I I told my mom, and it was exactly like you said. She looked at me and she kind of snickered. And mom is one who's she's got all kinds of church bulletin stuffed in her. Little little notes written on it and all this. I was sure. I was sure that she would be so happy. Because I really thought she'd been praying for me. All my life. One was an older person, the other was I picked age 19 earlier, but because he was 19. And they both told their they both told their moms. One was stepmom, mom and past. But both very spiritual people, and they just really believed. They're gonna hug me, they're gonna come up to me, they're gonna hug me, they're gonna go, how can I help you? I've been waiting for this day forever, I've been praying for you. Both of them didn't respond favorably. Sometimes people want to stone you, and you think, why would you pick up stones? I'm with you. The people wanted to stone them, and God sentenced that generation to die in the wilderness. Sometimes you got to leave people behind. Sometimes God will prune people away from your life. He says, Look, I have this plan for you. I have this plan for you, but you know what? These people that you have in your life, they got to go. They got to go first because you will never be able to achieve what I have for you, what I've shown you, you'll never get that. If these people are in your life, could be a friend. And it's hard. God sends that generation to die in the wilderness, except for two people. Two people. Numbers 14, verse 24. But my servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit and has followed me fully, I will bring into the land. And to which he went, and his descendants shall possess it. That was the promise. That was the promise. Then came forty years of sand, and every one of Caleb's peers were buried in it. Caleb is called Kenizite. Kenaz is a clan name tied to Edom or Edom in Genesis 36. And many scholars read Caleb's family is outsiders, folded into Judah. And if so, it's Rahab's lesson again, or Rahab. It's Rahab's lesson again. One of the strongest believers in Israel came in from the outside. Stop believing, stop believing that the only way you're going to get under what it is that God has for you is if these people are on your team and they are not right now, and you look at them and you say, Why? Why don't you want this for me? Sometimes they're not meant, they're not meant to be involved in it. Sometimes those who will help you will come from the outside. I gave the example of Miss Nancy yesterday, and lots of times. Pivotal. She's pivotal to why I'm right here. She was a person speaking into my life from the outside. The Lord gave her a word. Man, I'm not one of these people that I'm not into all that. Lord gave me a word. You know, half the time those people are super emotional people. They don't have any control over their emotions and they just go emotion to emotion to emotion. Most of the time they're wrong. In fact, almost all the time they're wrong, but they still want that emotion, they want that feeling. This woman, she said she walked into the room I was staying in and it hit her twice. Sometimes people come in from the outside and they lift you. They inform you, they direct you. While your own family or the people that you love and you think love you, and maybe they do, are sitting there going, folded hands, or they're shaking their head. Listen, my own mother. God rest her soul. My own mother, a great, great servant of God, little tiny but great servant of God. But she was not for me being in the ministry. Divorced. No way, you're disqualified. We could go down the list of things that make me not the choice. But when God makes you the choice, when he makes that choice, he says, You, this. Listen, and the land is being handed out by lot. Remember? Proverbs 16, verse 33. The lot is cast into the lap, but it's every decision is from the Lord. Nobody's grabbing. God is a signing. Adonai is a signing. Hashem is a signing. He's the one. Joshua 14, verse 6. The people of Judah come to Joshua at Gilgal. And Caleb steps forward. Verse 7. I was 40 years old when Moses, the servant of the Lord, sent me from Kedesh Barneah to spy out the land. And I brought him word again, as it was in my heart. Caleb was unconcerned. Good morning, Sean spoke correctly. Caleb didn't report the odds. That's what that's not what he was there to do. Caleb didn't report everything that was against, hey, yeah, you know, we got this situation, and maybe maybe God has called you to something, and and and your mom or your dad or your brother, your sister, your best friend, whatever, and you bring it to them, you go, I believe the Lord is calling me to this. And they say, Yeah, but remember you stutter. Hey, remember you got a little bit of an overbite. Hey, you got a chipped tooth. Hey, remember that divorce? Hey, you remember when you lived kind of wild? And by kind of I mean a lot wild, because you know, we did it together. We was wild. Well, we ran these streets. Remember that? Hey, you remember, you remember that you don't have much financially, that you're barely making it? You remember that you're having to work two jobs because you don't have anything. You're trying to make it. Hey, remember this big decision in your life, it's gotta be made. You know it's gotta be made. It keeps reminding you of the things that make you not want to make that decision. They'll remind you and remind you and remind you. Remember this? Caleb didn't report the odds, he reported his heart. Verse 8 But my brothers who went up with me made the heart of the people melt, yet I wholly followed the Lord my God. Oh, come on, some of you warriors wake up. But my brothers who went up with me, we were on that. We with this spy mission that we did, we were together, y'all roll with me, y'all roll with me, and we went up there, and some of you, all but two, me and you know who. All of you made the people's heart melt. Oh, there's no way, it's impossible. You are either a person who says, Hey, this can be done. Maybe we have to tweak it a little bit, maybe we have to do whatever. This is this can be done. The most successful people in the world that I know, and I know some of the most successful people, they are not, well, yeah, God, and see this. They've always told me, hello from Russia, Kazan, Pasha Remenov. Listen, I want you to understand this. Understand this. You've got to understand this. You are either going to be the naysayer. This can't be done. This can't be done. This can't be done. And maybe one part of you is telling that to you. Can't be done. Listen, and maybe there's some preparation God has for you. Maybe you need to pick up a book. Maybe you need to pick up this book. Maybe you need to actually do intense reading. Maybe you need to actually pray. Maybe you need to write down your prayers. Maybe you need to write down what God has given you. Maybe that vision that God has given you, you write it down, make it real, and and revisit it every day. That's wholly following the Lord your God. It's not living in fear of a non-believer looking at you, going, hmm, weirdo, worshiping your sky daddy. We have them in the comments all the time. Oh, yeah, you're weak. You have a crutch. You're not very smart, really. I got two doctorates and a master's and a reasonably intelligent guy. We can play that game all day long. Some make the people's heart melt with fear and woe is me, and it can't be done. You'll never get out of this life. You'll never get out of this, you'll never accomplish that. That thing you said God has for you, you're never going to do that. Your job is to wholly W H O L L Y. Holy follow the Lord your God. That phrase shows up three times in this chapter, verses eight, nine, and fourteen. In Hebrew, it's this is very challenging to hear. I'll say it slow. Meleti Asherei Adonai. Meleti Ashurei Adonai. Literally, I filled up after the Lord. I filled up. I'm no longer running around holding stuff back. In this, the Hebrew literally means, I filled up after the Lord, nothing held back, nothing left half empty. I am filled. Some of you have been taking sips, but you have refused to be filled. Caleb did not live his life. That way you say, Well, it's life in the Lord, you mean? No, no, no. He didn't live his life. That was his life. Waiting on God isn't standing still. It's following him fully while you wait. Maybe there's a part of the plan that God has, he does it here. And then some time goes by, maybe a lot of time, and then he he enacts another part. Sometimes he doesn't push you forward or promote you, or in whatever way take you to the next level. He doesn't do it because you're not ready. You're going at what he has for you halfway. You say, I'm I'm 80 years old, I'm 70 years old. We have somebody that's 98 years old that listens to this. 98 years old. I didn't know it. Didn't know it until yesterday. 98. And she is excited about what the Lord has for her. She says, I am going to accomplish what the Lord has for me. He has given me great things in my life. He has He has taught me great things. I have lived, I've I've married and buried three husbands. And together, the first one, no, but the second, the the second and the third one. She said they were right, we were with it. And now I'm doing it. And the Lord has for me, and she lives in a nursing home. I don't care if you're not if you're 98 years old, you're not done. My dear friend who I miss terribly, he was probably the best friend I've ever had. Jerry Summers. I love that man so much. I'm gonna tell you, he was in his 70s. He was the hardest working dude. He retired after an extremely successful career at a huge company. And he so humbly represented his accomplishments. And then he had this little business on the side. He and his wife, through that business, led 3,000, 3,000 people to Christ. And up until he got so sick he could no longer do it. He was still doing what God had for him to do. What God has for you to do might not be what that person has. Positive, powerful thinker. A positive, powerful doer. And when it was negative, he addressed the negative as real. And then he said, My God has directed me. We're gonna go around this problem. Verse 10. And now behold, the Lord has kept me alive, just as he said these 45 years kept me alive. He knew this. I talk about it all the time. God has the on button and the off button to your life. My off button has been pressed, I think, at least three times. The latest was in 2012, 92 miles per hour versus 51. Two different uh firemen, paramedics, emts, whatever, came up to the car, took my vitals, marked the car fatal, and walked away. He was called in as a as a double fatal, potential double fatal. The the the one that died and he stayed dead in the other car. We knew he was a neighbor, he's a friend of my son's. We loved him. We saw him every Friday night at football. He was a precious guy. He is with the Lord. He loved the Lord, he had a smile like you wouldn't believe. And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, just as he said. Some of you have been prodding along as though you've been in neutral. You can't figure it out why you don't have fulfillment in your life. Because you've been in neutral. You say, Well, but I'm this, but I'm that. Caleb watched his friends die. He fought seven years of war for other people's land before he ever got his own. Can you imagine? Some of you, listen, you're in a fight. It's a challenge. Life is a challenge. You're you're getting after it. You're like, wow, this is challenging. This is hard. There's some tricky business here. When do I get my thing? And God, in his perfect timing, what did he say? He wholly followed the Lord. Can you imagine fighting seven years of war for other people's land before you ever get your own? Are you kidding me? 45 years isn't too long for God to keep a promise. By the way, that's not any big deal at all. Somebody take a breath and say amen. God will keep a promise. He'll keep it. If he makes it, he'll keep it. Verse 11, I am still as strong today as I was in the day that Moses sent me. Come on, somebody. Somebody, verse 12. So now give me this hill country of which the Lord spoke on that day. For you heard on that day how the Anakim were there. They were the giants, with great fortified cities. He doesn't ask for the easy valley. He asked for the exact spot that terrified a nation, the giant's hometown. And then the most humble line in the entire chapter. It may be that the Lord will be with me, and I shall drive them out, just as the Lord said. It may be. Listen, that's not a doubt. There's nothing in that that's a doubt. That's a man who knows the victory is God's to give. It's not his to demand. We don't demand of God. We don't command God. Sometimes I hear these people preaching and praying, and they're like, Lord, you know, you know, you must do this. You must do this because you said, and so now you must do it. I'm like, woof, you better back down. Slow down, slam dancer. You better recognize who you're talking to. Victory is God's to give. Caleb knew it wasn't his to demand of God. Verse 13 Joshua blessed him and gave Hebron to Caleb for an inheritance. Now listen, you hear all about uh Judea and Samaria or Gaza in the West Bank. Listen, let me just tell you something. That's all it's Israel's. Hebron, Israel's. The West Bank, Israel's. Gaza, Israel's. Not anybody else's. Way on back when there's no, there's nothing there that testifies to a people that own that land other than Israel. Now I want you to jump to chapter 15, verse 14. And Caleb fired up. And Caleb, I knew it would be too. And I have speech therapy today. And she's going to go, have you been yelling? Now I want you to jump to chapter 15, verse 14. And Caleb drove out from there the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Aimon and Tamai. Same three names. The giants who made Israel quit. Made them quit. Oh, this is too hard. Yeah, I know. I understand the Lord said we're supposed to be there. But you see those people? You see that challenge? You see how big that mountain is. You see how big that building is. You see how big you look, I'm I'm older. I can't learn a language. Uh I'm I'm older. I can't do this or that. We will make a million reasons. I'm writing a song right now called A Million Reasons. And I took and in this song, I'm not finished with it. I'm I'm I'm fighting with it. Two and a half years I've been fighting with this song, and I picked it up a little bit yesterday. A million reasons why? Yes. A million reasons why no. They're swirling in our head all the time. They're punching us in the face. They're punching us in the stomach. They're hitting us in our knees. Oh, you're a gimp. You got to use a cane. You got to use a walker. You got to use a rollator, whatever. Oh, I'm old. I can't, I can't move. I can't do this. I can't do that. I have people tell me all the time. I have some people that say, man, I can't get up. I can't get up at seven. I can't. I can't do it. And then I look at Miss Nicole. She got a whole day to do after this. It's four in the morning where she wakes up. Some of you, it's one in the morning. Some of you, it's all different times. Some of you, you're you're getting bleary-eyed now after working a whole overnight shift at the emergency room. And you're listening. And I thank you for that. Some of you are overcoming tremendous. I have to laugh sometimes. I look at the people that that um that watch this regularly and listen regularly. And they do it live. And I have to laugh because some of those feet people are fighting horrific diseases. They're in terrible pain. They've overcome so much. They're in the middle of so much, and yet they're here. And yet they're here. We've got a million excuses. It's the same for losing weight. I need to lose probably 25 pounds, right? To be optimal for my situation. 25 pounds. I can lose that weight. I know that I can. I gotta do the exercise. I gotta, I can't, uh, look, it'd be easy for me to make a million excuses. We always can. You say, well, what does losing weight have to do with it? Wouldn't feeling better and being able to move better be to my benefit? Don't you think? It seems like a small thing. It's a huge thing. And there are so many that battle it and battle it and battle it. And that's what keeps them from moving forward and serving God. When I lose this 20 pounds, when I lose this 50 pounds, then I will. Then I'll serve you. No. Remember those same three names that I read at the beginning. You can always go back and listen. If you missed any part of this, you can go back and listen to it. It's and it's all it's always there in the live tab. Always. The giants who made Israel quit. 45 later, 45 years later, an old man drove them out. He drove out giants. He's he's an old man and he drove out giants. The giants that made you quit can be the giants that drive you out. Look, we look at it. We look at it and we say, the impossibility of it is too great. I can't fathom it. The impossibility, it's it's too much. I just can't achieve it. It's not for you to achieve, it's for you to do what God has given you to do, no matter what it looks like. Folks, my medical teams, they all say, probably not the best thing. My neurologist, who I adore, well, every day at seven, probably not the best thing. You need to get a good night's sleep and and and kind of get up as you get up. This whole getting up real early business, and then taxing your brain like that, not good, not good. It's the opposite. I said, God told me. This is what he gave me to do, so I'm gonna do it. The giant of my disability made me quit for a long time. Workarounds. There's a million workarounds to every challenge you have. There's that guy with no arms and no legs who is bringing people to Christ by the thousands. There's that guy with a lisp that is bringing people to Christ. There's that lady who was paralyzed early, early in her life when she was young and beautiful and vibrant. And through her writing, she can't, she can't actually has to use her voice to write. Totally paralyzed. God. And she's brought thousands to Christ. You gotta stop looking at all the reasons why you can't. Verse 17. Otaniel takes the next city, Kiryath Zephyr, and wins Caleb's daughter, Aksa, as his wife. And in verse 19, she come, she comes to her father, Caleb. She comes to her father, Caleb, and says, Give me a blessing. Since you have given me the land of the Neged, give me also springs of water. And Caleb gives her the upper springs and the lower springs. Now there's a little bit of a translation tension here, and I always tell you, I'm gonna always tell you that when it is, amen, Miss Nicole. Our biggest, our biggest giant is our comfort zone. God rarely sets for us to be comfortable. Faith calls us to earnestly seek God, not ourselves. So here's here's a little translation tension. And I always tell you, I'm going to tell you when there is one. In verse 18, the Hebrew says, She urged her husband to ask for a field. The ancient Greek says he urged her. The ESV, English Standard Version, and the New American Standard Bible, they follow the Hebrew. Either way, watch who actually speaks. Aksa. She asked for the water, and her father says yes. Chapter 15, verse 63, the Jebusites in Jerusalem, Judah could not drive out. Chapter 16, verse 10. Ephraim did not drive out the Canaanites in Gizer. Could not. Did not. And in the middle of them, an 85-year-old man who did. I wouldn't ask if it wasn't critically important. Look, if you just found us, you believe God promised you something a long time ago, and it hasn't happened. And you think to yourself, did he forget? Did God forget? Joshua 14 says, No. The altar at 19, the verse, the week your baby was born, the calling in the drawer. Caleb waited 45 years, and the promise didn't shrink. It had his name on it. The whole time. And notice how he waited. Wasn't bitter. And look, let me tell you something. My mind was a lot sharper. Miss Colling can testify. I could had weird. I was born with some weird capabilities, and I abused them all, quite frankly. I abused them all. The gifts that God gave me, every single you name one of the gifts, abused it. I didn't, I didn't. If if God would have put me in this 25 years ago, I couldn't ever have handled it. Not brain-wise, oh of course I could. Not capacity-wise, of course I could. I had tremendous capacity. But my ego couldn't. My hurts, habits, and hangups. Nope. Not a chance. Caleb waited 45 years. His promise didn't shrink at all. It was his. The whole time. Listen, the promise God has for you is yours. It's not anybody else's, it's yours. Notice how Caleb waited, though. Not bitter. He wasn't sitting around on the porch replaying Kaddish. He filled up after the Lord, it says. He filled up after the Lord. He saved he stayed strong. He fought for other people's inheritance first. Then, when the time came, he didn't ask for less because he was old. He didn't ask for less. He asked for the mountain. You are never too old to ask God for a mountain. I have asked God for a mountain here. And he has given it. Miss Nancy said, You will preach to oceans of people the name and the gospel of God. Thousands upon thousands of people listen to this. It's not about me. God never had any. If it was about me, none would listen. Even podcast puppy would tune it out. I just want you to understand, you're never too old to ask God for a mountain, and you're never too old to get that mountain. Thank you, Miss Colleen, for that. I appreciate that. She says, Amen, Nicole. Guilty. Listen, I want you to look at Aksa. She had land, but it was dry. She didn't sit on it and resent her father. Oh, my father doesn't like me. We can find a million ways we look at her bosses and we go, oh, if you're still working. Oh, the boss doesn't like me. So what if the boss doesn't like you? Do great work anyway. If they don't see you or reward you, still keep doing good. You're not working for her, you're working for the Lord. She didn't sit there and resent her father. Why'd he give me such dry land? She went to him and she asked for more. Some of you have been living on dry ground for years because you decided asking again would be impolite with God. Impolitive would be impolite toward God. He's your father. Put God in and view him in his place. He is your father. He wants you to ask. Here's your step for today. I gotta hurry because folks got places to go and things to do. Here's your step for today. I'm not kidding around. Open that drawer. Before dark, write down the write down the promise you believe God gave you, the one you quietly stopped asking about. Write it in one sentence. Write down the promise you believe God gave you, and you quietly stopped asking about it. Write it in one sentence. Then say it out loud to God the way Aksa did. Give me a blessing. Give me springs of water. Some of you, that that blessing you need is just energy. You live a low-energy life. You need energy. Some of you it's it's speaking to people about your faith. Some of you it's smiling. And somebody saying, Whoa, something's got you happy. Yeah. God has been so good to me. He just continues to bless me so many ways. I want you to put today's date next to it. You're not demanding. We don't demand of God. You're asking again, like a daughter or a son who knows her father. Listen, and this is not your earthly father. No. No, listen, I don't know how your mother or your father were toward you. I know in my father, we had a very contentious relationship all the way up near the end. My mother, I didn't have the relationship with her I thought I had. Let's put it that way. He is neither one of them. Stop recreating God in their own image. Maybe if you're a crappy father or a mother, stop recreating God in your image. You're asking, like a daughter or a son who knows her father, who knows his father, then watch, because the God who kept Caleb alive for 45 years is still to this day keeping his word. Now, let's bring this to Yeshua. Caleb held a promise 45 years. But we we need more than a long memory. We need a guarantee. That's the way we are. 2 Corinthians 1 verse 20, for all the promises of God find their yes in him. Every promise, you might want to write that down. 2 Corinthians 1, verse 20. For all the promises of God find their yes in him. Every promise God has ever made runs through Yeshua. In him the answer is yes. And he's the son who never stopped filling up after the Father. In John 8, verse 29, he says, I always do the things that are pleasing to him. Caleb followed fully for 45 years. Yeshua followed fully all the way to the cross. And remember Aksa, asking her Father for springs. Yeshua tells us in Luke 11, verse 13, if you then who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him? Listen, you say, I want to hear from God. Hey, you better get ready. You better get ready. You ask for Ruachagh, it's in Hebrew, it's Ruakakadesh, the Holy Spirit. You better get ready. He makes a promise. Upper Springs and Lower Springs, John 7, verse 39 tells us the living water Yeshua promised is the Spirit poured out on anyone who comes thirsty. God doesn't forget what he promised. Did you hear what I just said? God doesn't forget what he promised. And he doesn't take back what he promised Israel either. Romans 11, verse 29, the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. The God who kept, the God who kept his word to Caleb is keeping his word to Caleb's people. I have for you today a challenge and a choice. So here's the choice. You can treat the long wait as proof God forgot. Or you can treat it the way Caleb did, as years to fill up after him. You can ask, you can, you can ask for less because you're older, because you're infirmed. Or you can walk, you can walk up and say, give me this mountain, Father. Whatever that mountain is that he has for you, give me this mountain. I'm ready. And maybe every day I'm getting ready. I'm getting ready. I'm a little bit more ready, but I'm still pushing forward, right? I'm not all the way ready to be at the end of that challenge, but I'm ready for tomorrow. I'm ready for today. I push forward, I push forward. And then the days that I don't feel like I'm ready, I push forward in trust and in faith in God the Father, because he made a promise. He does not, he doesn't take away his promise. You can keep the promise in the drawer. You can do this. Hey, it's challenging or choice. You can do whatever you want. Got a challenge, you got a choice. You can keep the promise in the drawer where it can't disappoint you, or you can open it and you can ask again. Listen, the giants are obviously still there. They'll always be there. So is the promise. Choose today. Choose today which one you'll believe. Some of the reasons why we don't achieve, because we look at those giants in front of us and we go, there's no way. There's no way. Trust God. Listen, prayer isn't asking for an easy journey, it's asking for a strong back. Pray with me, Father God, Almighty God, Adul Na'loeen. We are humbled in your presence. We thank you for visiting upon us today. Faithful God, you remember what we've forgotten. Some of us stopped asking a long time ago. The promise is in the drawer, and we're afraid to open it. Father God, we boldness. I'm asking you for boldness for me and for them. To open it. Open the drawer. Open the drawer we put your promise in. Today, let us open that. Thank you for Caleb and his story, the Old Testament. Oh, Father, thank you for the Old Testament, so rich. So rich. Thank you that 45 years didn't shrink your word. Teach us to fill up after, fill up after you while we wait. To be filling up after you, to be in your word, to be in prayer. Some of us are so afraid to pray. And so we don't. Keep us strong, Father. Keep us from bitterness. It's so easy. So easy to be bitter. I know it in my own life. So easy to be bitter. And like Aksa. Aqsa, we ask, give us a blessing. Give us springs of water. Pour out your spirit on us. Thank you for keeping your word to Israel and for making every promise. Yes, in Yeshua. In his name. Amen. Maybe, look, maybe the oldest promise in your life is the one God made about you before you were even born. That he'd make a way home. Yeshua is that way. You don't have to wait another 45 years. Pray this with me. Listen, I'm not getting around. If you've never placed your faith in Christ, pray this with me right now. Handle this, live or on playback. Handle it. Stop running from it. Pray this with me and believe. Yeshua, I need you. I believe you rose. You rose after dying on a cross for me. I believe you rose from the grave. I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me of my sins, my hurts, my habits, and my hang ups. Fill me. Lead me. I'm yours. In your name. Amen. Praise the Lord. If you prayed that today, God's oldest promise to you just came true. Listen, if you placed your faith in Christ today, tell one believer what you did. And if I'm the one believer, I'd prefer you to, if you know a believer in your life that you can physically go up to and tell, no matter how they respond. And if they respond poorly, you just smile and say, hey, the preacher guy, the ugly dude on the screen said to uh tell uh someone we know to be a believer that we've placed our faith in Christ. And so I thought of you immediately. Thank you for listening. Go on, you can come tell me. I'll help you find a church, a church that opens scriptures and loves Israel. 45 years in the desert, come on. 45 years. Most of us would have given up after five minutes. 45 minutes, we're done. We're out. 45 years in the desert, three giants in the hills, one old man who said, Give me this mountain. Give me this mountain. God kept every word. Somebody you love put their promise in a drawer years ago. You're thinking of somebody now. Send them this episode. Send them the link. Tell them that God doesn't forget. I'm gonna pray a prayer of blessing over you. I'm nobody special, trust me when I tell you. But this prayer has been prayed. God prayed over his people. Yeshua was in the middle of praying this when he was taken up to heaven. And I'm gonna pray it over you. I'm gonna pray it in his heavenly name and in Lashon Hokodesh, which is simply Hebrew, for the language of God, which is in fact Hebrew. It's the language he spoke to his people. It's the language his people spoke to him. I'm gonna pray that and then I'm gonna translate it for you, okay? Are you ready? Come on now. Don't be afraid. Don't be afraid. Come on, somebody, somebody, lift if you're not driving a car or you know, the big uh Tesla uh SpaceX thing. If you're if if you can safely do this, I want you to lift your hands and receive it. Shalom. May the Lord bless you and keep you, may the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Until tomorrow, if the Lord tarries, 7 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. Oh, I can't wait to deliver you that message. Until tomorrow morning at 7 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. Shalom Bishem Yeshua.
